I was just wondering how individuals benefit from today's unprecedented level of social networking. Yes, it makes sense that everyone can be happier as part of the masses who have access to a much wider audience and availability of information, but if everyone's trying to one-up each other, doesn't this just generate another survival of the fittest atmosphere?

And isn't it ironic that the urbanites and yuppies who proclaim their social and cultural awareness are the ones who get involved in this new social darwinist exercise? I don't mean to mock anyone, but isn't there a whole degree of hypocrisy which is being overlooked here?

Thx Sana. You're absolutely right and I apologize. I just get sick and tired of how individuals just surrender to cosmopolitanism everyday without realizing that the very force that's asking them to be skeptical of everyone around them should be scrutinized itself.

Seems like I fell victim to the same force only instead, I ignored and abandoned those who feel the same way.

well sir, you seem to be forgeting completely the fraction around you who doesnot want to be a part of this vicious circle...how ironic is that?
Take another good look around you and you'll find a large if not equal number of people who are contented at who, what and where they are....

ya in the end everyone expects you to be the same as everyone else... and those that seem "weird" or "unusual" have a harder time to find a job, friends..etc. it's harder for them to live in this society because it's so judgmental.

You are not on Earth by accident. There is a purpose for your mortal existence. You are here to receive a physical body, gain experience, and develop divine attributes—like justice, mercy, and love.

God did not send you here without a plan. His plan is designed to bring you, and all His children, greater peace in this life—no matter what its trials—and eternal joy in the life to come. It is a plan of eternal salvation and happiness.

To partake of His plan, Heavenly Father invites you to:

* Come to know and love Him and His Son, Jesus Christ.
* Learn to love others as He loves them.
* Learn to choose right over wrong.
* Commit yourself to Him through ordinances such as baptism.
