Im just asking. google search "melanin theory" I don't ascribe to that particular point of view, but I was wondering what other people thought about it?

for the lazy people. It basically says that melanin (melanin is more than just a sunscreen) is found throughtout nature and that white peoples lack of it makes them inferior. Like I said, Im not sold on this idea. But wondered what other people think

the school i attent at if mostly African Americans and Spanish... my culture is Guyanese.... it's very few Guyanese that attends my school!! everyday i get torture because im Indian (mix).... the kids won't stop... i tried to fit it, but i can't, my culture it way off different form there'z... form the music to food n everything else!! plz help what do i do?

I have asked a question regarding africans and people that answered just went off on me! People get so out of hand. Why would they answer the question if they had such a problem. because only one of them actually answered what i was asking, and the rest had major attitudes!

Why would most white people rather go to another country(Iraq) and help there people rather then help black people in their own country.
Notice how I said most and not ALL.No Black people dont have oil in their country,but apparently most white people think we go around shooting people.yes there are some black people that go around shooting people but not all black people.Why not help the innocent black people in our country than help the innocnet iraqis in Iraq.Why not improve black neighborhoods and take away the weapons and drugs the government put in our neighborhoods than take away the weapons our government sold to iraq.Before you say black people put the guns and the drugs in their own neighborhood think about do you really think the government would give black people power to put drugs and guns in their neigborhood.you don't think the government has any access to what comes in and out of our country.

I've been learning alot about blacks because my cousin recently married one and I don't want to be offensive (I have not known very many blacks and it was because of my environment and not by choice). Anyhow, I have been researching and It seems that although nearly every society has had slaves, throughout the entire world history, only Africans were actually taken from their place of origin and brought to an entire other continent. I read that it is the biggest forced exodus ever. Is this true? Because if it is, I think it changes everything.

My great-grandmother was from Germany and she was also jewish. However, unlike most of the jews in europe, she did not speak yiddish, she spoke high german. In germany would they have considered her and ethnic german with the jewish religion, or an ethnic "middle-eastern" jew living in Germany?

I understand about freedom of speech but it really upsets me when racist or homophobic people post obscenely racist or homophobic questions or answers on yahoo answers...

I understand that people have different beliefs but don't these people know it's unacceptable - racism/homophobia is wrong, it's not an opinion it's an accepted fact - why do people continue to be so horrible even understanding this fact?!

I mean it's illegal to "incite racial intolerence" isn't it? At least here it is! Why is this going ignored?

And By the way, I do understand that there are many educated friendly, tolerant and intelligent people on yahoo answers - the few intolerant ones are ruining it for all of us, in my opinion.

Does anyone agree?

Loaded question I know, but thought I'd put it out there and see people's thoughts. I found it rather disconcerting that Barack Obama was branded as not essentially being "black enough" because of his mixed heritage, and not sharing in the "struggle" because he was raised middle class. Never mind the fact that he identifies with and acknowledges the Black race. The difference with him is that he makes race a non-issue and focuses on things at hand instead of being a stereotypical incendiary lightning rod like say, Al Sharpton. Bill Cosby has been attacked by some in the Black community for having the nerve to demand accountability from the Black race at large in typical fashion - "Uncle Tom", etc. etc. How many young Black children who don't conform to societal expectations of AAs - wearing "urban" clothes and using slang - get ridiculed and berated by their fellow AA classmates because they don't "act/speak Black". I just want to know why this exists.
