Hey, what Tim Hardaway said was his opinion. Let us not get it twisted people. Being gay is not like being black. Period. Quit saying that it is. Unless your people have been enslaved for 400 years, raped, exploited to build America, and kept out of the main stream prosperity, don't part your lips to say homophobia is like racial bigotry.

Howdy......U Azz. Slavery in Africa never included rape, nor did it include beatings. Slavery was done the world over. Slaves in Africa were not considered property. They were freed at one point or absorbed into the culture. Get a book and read my history.

Yes, gay people haven't had it as bad as Black people. However, they are facing horrible times. It's really frustrating to have people against over something that you cant' help. However, today being discriminated is something easy to go through. At the worst, there may be gay killings, but the police will do anything to catch the criminal. Do you think back in the day when a Black person was lynched by white people, the police would have done anything to the criminal? No, most likely, the police congratulated the white man on getting rid of a Black person. It's definitely not the same.

"What gay person has ever been enslaved or hung? When and where was the last lychin of a gay?"

You must have the brain of a five year old child. It would explain why you have never heard of Matthew Shepard, it was before your time.

You are so mentally deficient that I'm surprised you're alive. I would never have believed anyone could be so stupid and survive crossing the street or knowing how to breathe in their sleep.

Discrimination against gays is just that: discrimination. Of course it's not the same as racial discrimination because it's not based on race.

I don't support either and I won't get into whether or not one is worse than the other. This is no better than the Holocaust Vs. Slavery debate.

But... people used to get hanged for being gay... gay people have been discriminated against since the dawn of time... and they have been enslaved and killed - in the concentration camps in Nazi Germany... They were often raped enslaved exploited and tortured...

I detest racism, and I detest homophobia... I am getting damn sick of people attempting to justify their prejudices on yahoo answers - it's all prejudice what's the use in quibbling over which is worse?

I'm sorry to cause confusion. I didn't say lynching. But "sodomy" was illegal. In Iran people are still hung for "sodomy" look it up!!
Not only that, but homophobia is one of the main reasons for assault now in both the UK and the USA... Please look it up! It's honestly true!

Discrimination: (from dictionary.com)

2. treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit:

GROUP...CLASS...or CATEGORY and also they are "kept out of the main stream prosperity"

Yeah its his opinion...but if he was white and said he didnt like black people I know you would be pissed. Yeah they weren't enslaved, but they are discriminated against because they are different....and that is DISCRIMINATION.

That's right- but why discriminate against homosexuals?? One may not agree with the life style- but to guard your tongue can never hurt.
