I understand about freedom of speech but it really upsets me when racist or homophobic people post obscenely racist or homophobic questions or answers on yahoo answers...
I understand that people have different beliefs but don't these people know it's unacceptable - racism/homophobia is wrong, it's not an opinion it's an accepted fact - why do people continue to be so horrible even understanding this fact?!
I mean it's illegal to "incite racial intolerence" isn't it? At least here it is! Why is this going ignored?
And By the way, I do understand that there are many educated friendly, tolerant and intelligent people on yahoo answers - the few intolerant ones are ruining it for all of us, in my opinion.
Does anyone agree?

I agree with you madam...it's a very unproductive way of using this unique site. I wish that people spent less time focusing on our differences and re-prioritized their energies to do some good in the world...thanks for taking a stand!

Because free speech is supposed to be allowed here, even though it really isn't. Using free speech in public can get you assaulted, and in countries like Germany, France and Canada, it will get you arrested. And don't expect any sympathy, as you "deserved" it for being politically incorrect.

Simple: they're cowards. They know they can get away with saying the things they want to say online whereas they'd appear mighty dumb were they to say these things in public. Very good question by the way.

yes i agree i think it is very inconsiderate and childish of them as well. it used to bother me but not anymore i just ignore it and i recommend you do the same don't let it get to you
