Why does the word "nappy" offend you?" I hear some say "Our hair isn't NAPPY, it's curly!" Well, nappy IS a word to describe tightly coiled and or kinky hair. It wasn't a term created by white people to bring us down like the word '******'. It was simply a term to describe a TEXTURE. No offense, but we black women are more of an enemy to us than whites. WE made it derogatory the moment we believed our hair was undesirable and began to create ways to straighten it to make it look more like the "standard beauty." For what? Just so that we could say "My hair isn't nappy. I have that 'good' hair." Being that the majority of black women in the United States has relaxed hair, it's only natural for us to think as a whole that the word "NAPPY" is offensive because most of us don't like our natural hair! And in turn, it makes it hard on the naturals because outsiders look at realxed-heads and think that we are supposed to relax ours too. Here's a website for nappy heads www.nappystar.com .

Howcome the schools always try to shove "White people are evil" propaganda down our throats? Saying how the evil white man came and destroyed everythign. Honestly, don't you realize North America would be like another middle east if it wasn't for Euro colonization?
The school just seems to want us to hate ourselvse. Saying how white people are the cause of the world's problems.

An example would be a video I saw in school saying how europeans were "pigs" (yeah it said pigs) while the arabs were so advanced and civilized (maaan).

Howcome in schools we are taught to hate our own race? I am talking about people of European descent living in America.
A month ago a video was telling us how advanced arab muslims were while europeans were "pigs" (and yes they did use the word pigs).

In school they use to teach us how white people are murderers, liar, theives, etc.. It is simply not true. The European race has accomplished so much it is amazing!

It must be so disapointing for our ancestors what we have turned into! A bunch of "white guiltly" people!

okay seriously people. let's break this down for you. American History IS "WHITE" History. a bunch of blacks, mexicans, asians or any other "minority" didn't come over here killing the natives, take over the land AND then decided that THEY wanted to be free. interesting that it's okay that "americans" could fight to be free from Great Britain but blacks couldn't fight for freedom or equal rights

in history class how many black inventors did you learn about. besides nationally recgonized black figures how much do you know about the acheivements of the black culture. as it would appear you don't know anything or you wouldn't ask why we have a month to begin with. instead of whining about something that you can't change learn about the acheivements that we've made. not all blacks are lazy and complain alot.

and to white america, don't act like you don't have poor, dirty, low income white neighborhoods. don't point at the splinter in our eyes when you have a log in yours

I'm working as a teacher and as the years pass I'm finding that childrens names are getting more and more obscure. I'm getting to the stage where I have to ask the kids how to pronounce their names, due to no phonetic rules applying to the random mix of letters that their parents choose. So, why do people do this?

Society has itself to blame also as children are being exploited more and more at younger ages in magazines, movies etc and young girls are taught at a young age to dress and be sexy (Bratz, Paris & Britney as role models) and then we wonder why there are pedo's and want to then create a witchunt looking for them. If these guy's are driven to such bad act's they cannot get any help to stop such things themselves. People like to accuse others but don't look at themselves first. I realise this is a taboo subject and like in the witchunt days I might also risk being accused at the mere discussion but someone had to say it....

To be clear I'm not excusing anyone guilty of these crimes and anyone cault should be dealt with by the law but just wanted to comment on the hypocricy in society

I'm just fed up- I enjoy answers (for those of you who say leave then) But you'd think they'd monitor the hatered a little better. I'm all for freedom of expression but its very painful to see all this hate! Is anyone else?
