Anglo-Saxon: England and Saxony, England and Germany, English and German languages... anything pertaining to two tribes in the British Isles in constant battles: Angles and Saxons. The dialects of both were responsible of beginnings of the English Language. In actual English grammar there is the "Anglo-Saxon genitive" which is no other than the use of the apostrophe and the "s" to indicate possession, v.g., The queen's throne; All the king's men...; Charles' brother.
