well im philippino. not chinese, janapese, or any other asian. just philippino. but you kno what? i still suffer from people teasing me and calling me chink and japanese. it's really insulting and bothers me. i try to say something back, but the person always tends to go FURTHER and starts saying gibberish by trying to speak chinese like "ching chong chioo" its insulting to me and also chinese and other asian races. I want to kno what I could say back to people that do this to me. only because it's annoying and highly immature.

It's completely ok to be black and proud (or any other minority for that matter), but when you're white and proud, you're labeled a "racist". Does anyone have a SENSIBLE answer?

I was driving to a diner with a black friend of mine and this guy moved to the intersection to make a right and he blocked traffic, my friend drove her car around him and shook her head and he yelled a horrible slur at her! At first I didn't know what he said- that is .. i didn't understand what he called her meant. When she told me, I felt horrible- I love a little suburban town and I've never heard things like that.

She took it really well, I said that he was a jerk and I was sorry he said that and she kind of shruged it off and said " whatever people say that S*%& all the time."

Has this ever happened to you- how do you react?

My daughter is 8 months old, and she comes from a mixed family. I am caucasian and native american. Her biological father is Asian Indian. My fiancee (who has been with me since I was pregnant, and is basically her father) is a Zulu from South Africa.

To me, she's just my little Peanut ... she's light enough that she seems "white" with me, but dark enough that she seems "mixed" with my fiancee.

I could care a less how she's classified, but every time I fill out a form, they ask for her "race." Also, as she gets older, I know people will try to place her in their own categories.

How do I instill a sense of pride and self-identity in her, and at the same time maker her comfortable in a world that insists on placing people in categories?

My friend Valerie is the best. We have so much fun hanging out together. I just wonder what did she mean by that? Sometimes her brother gives me these mean looks and sometimes he says things like "by any means necessary." What does militant mean?

I am black and I live in a very diverse city where there are many mixed race people and couples. I have many black friends who get annoyed or angry when they see white women with black men. Before it didn't bother me when I saw a white women with a black man, but now it's starting to, because seems like it's some kinda of trend, like they are rejecting their own women. I just wanted to know what you (black and whites) think of these kind of couples?
