Why is it socially acceptable to be anything but white and proud?

It's completely ok to be black and proud (or any other minority for that matter), but when you're white and proud, you're labeled a "racist". Does anyone have a SENSIBLE answer?

Because black is "proud" and white is "beautiful". I say that's the facts. White people are "beautiful" and well the blacks need to be "proud" of something right. I am proud of Condoleeza Rice, Denzel Washington, Sydney Poiter, Opra Winfrey, and the list goes on. Whites are beautiful and humble people. By the way I am not of the White race but my husband is and my daughter is half white and she's extra beautiful! Some blacks like to label whites as racist because they have a inferiority complex of themselves. If they can't get pass it, then they have only themselves to blame. Hey, slavery was demolished a long, long time ago, so don't put the blame on whites anymore. All the people living in those days are dead and gone. It was their mistake and not ours. The root of the problem truthfully speaking is some blacks have the problem of being blacks. They just wish they were whites. That's why they make their hair straight and dye their hair blonde and red. Said and done.

Society has been spindling down the hole of political correctness and giving minorities special opportunities for quite some time. I'm not saying that these things are bad in themself, I believe in the favoritism in college, but sometimes they are pushed way too hard. We need to lower our standards for society and realize that it will never be perfect and that there is no way we can stop hurting peoples feeling unless we turn into a utopia or something. I think it's dumb that mainly white people are labeled as racist just because we were in the past. I think that we have grown past that and that now we are becoming more racist BECAUSE of the minorities calling us that. It's a big problem and needs some serious thought.

The world is full of ignorance. Be white and proud and screw the rest. You should be proud of who you are no matter what your background or skin color.
I totally get this.
It is insane.
Just recently in the news there was a caucasion scholorship experiment and it did in fact get called a racist act. But it is totally 100% ok for the african americans to have the ***** College Fund. The native americans are governmentally funded for school(I AM NATIVE AMERICAN). Also there are a few asian american scholorships. Why is it only ok for those cultures and not caucasions? Really i dont get it.

I'm proud of being white for the following reasons:

-We built civilisation and democracy
-We discovered modern medicine
-We have developed many written languages
-We pioneered modern art and music
-We circumnavigated the globe
-We put a man on the moon
-We invented just about every modern comfort people use in everyday life

If white people never existed, the whole world would be living in the bronze age.

I am proud to be an American,Yes I am white, but befroe that I am a man,and I am American. And I am proud of my accomplishments as an American. And I am proud of my family, who has always taught me right from wrong. And through all this, I am proud to have been humbled by my own hand. Being aware of my ancestrial's short comings through out history does not leave too much room to be 'proud', when dealing with the correctness of the white peoples place in history. I think the
blacks do have more to be proud of, than us white folk.
They have overcome more adversity than we have. And has indeed earned my respect. On the other hand I do feel we have more to be ashamed of.(if one was to let themselves feel ashamed for the wrong doings of their ancestors). Which I dont.

It is political correctness all the way.... Who cares and be proud of who you are. The KKK put a whole new spin on "white and proud" and that is unfortunate for us both. I am half black and white and I am proud of my heritage and I don't care who I offend. I think there is no simple way to answer that question.

The PC crowd has been hammering us with this crap, using the media and the churches. This is part of the communist plot to destroy the unity of the people. Yes, there are people with communist leanings still around.

I, for one, refuse to comply. I AM White and damn proud of it. White people built this country and most of the civilizations in the world. Should we bow down to people who have contributed little or nothing, and feel guilty about it? I think not!

Since minorities suffered atrocities at the hands of the majority they feel that they have the right to be proud of how far they have come as a people.
On the other hand, "white pride", sounds to some like racist rhetoric and that reminds them of the groups of people that enslaved and/or mistreated them before.

Im white and proud.I like our culture our music country ,heavy metal and our food it will kill you though country cooking biscuits and gravy,fried potatoes is exstremley fattening. Just be proud and to heck what they think. White people have contributed alot to this country.Abraham Lincoln,Henry Ford,Wilbur and Orville Wright , Janis Joplin ,Joan Jett ,Eddy Van Halen,Sammy Hagar ,Bill Gates ,Jim morrison,Ted nugent and Bob Seger have contributed alot to our way of life so be proud.
