Thanks for the insult. Appreciate it... really I do. You sound like some social darwinist or something. You must think, though, how many more Americans there are to make the country look bad than there are French and English people. Secondly, we have never had a persay "heirarchy" or "class systems" because of all the different cultures blended here. So we may seem uncultured and lack respect but actually we are more realistic and don't look at people the way they are in society but rather by who they really are. This leads to us being more blunt than other nations. We will say what we think to your face. In my opinion, that's a good thing and I don't consider anything wrong with it.
On a latter note, there are alot of Americans who are just plain rude. I hate those kinds of people and they are probably the minority that makes you think the way you do.

Americans used to have manners and self respect. I believe that being "politically correct" ruined that. It's not politically correct to discipline your children anymore, therefore they grow up to be monsters. Also, fast paced society has taken over everywhere. Everything has to be done so quickly, but then we wonder why there are so many mistakes that are made. Maybe if people weren't screaming all the time about what a big hurry they were in, then maybe things would be done right for a change.

When it was time for the Countries to show their stand against the Terroists, the French declined. It's a good thing the Americans have a Bravery Class. Wouldn't want to be in the French Coward Class. As for the English, we are in the same class. Americans speak English.

Manners is not asking an insulting question about an entire group of people. I've spent a lot of time in England and France, and believe me, they don't have any more manners there than in America. In fact, I've met more rude people there than I've ever met in America. In America, I've never had a total stranger start insulting me on the metro because of where I'm from. I've had that happen in England and France. (I was sitting alone just waiting for my stop, and they started in with the oh-so-fun trend of insulting Americans. Completely unprovoked.) I would get nasty looks and comments anywhere I went. Americans don't do that to foreigners. Europeans love to pat themselves on the back and talk about how classy they are, but if you don't ACT it then you don't have it. So don't talk to me about class and manners unless you HAVE it.

LOL i find that rather funny myself mainly because in most other countries everyone is the same there really isn't anything diffent.
Here every state, every town, every city, is filled with different people from different backgrounds and up bringings
now i saw a guy on tv from france (wife swap) who thought it was funny to pass gas in a car and not roll down the window so that the lady in the passanger seat didn't have to smell it , so..... is that classy or maybe they fact that some men can go to another country and pick nude woman out of a window to pay and have sex with her o am sorry maybe thats classy. i like to think i have class i'm not loud i have manners i respect those older then me i love music and writting and reading my peotry or others. i don't like gold teeth or men that wear pants 10 sizes to big , i listen to classical music from time to time but i also eat pizza with my hands and a slice of cake with my fingers does that mean am not classy ?

Because our schools do not incorporate such formalities. I have long been a supporter of etiquette training in schools. European schools have a long tradition of including etiquette in the daily lesson from the formal school uniform, to the formal eating arenas, and class conduct, proper class is pounded into the heads of their children from kindergarden through secondary school. In America, well we have twelfth graders that can't even read let alone know how to speak proper American English, and forget them knowing a butter knife from a steak knife. It is utterly depressing if you ask me... I am very fortunate that my family actually took the time and forced me to go to an etiquette school for young women, as a child. More parents really should include this as a part of their children's proper rearing.

Well, you try having a baby here in America and see how well you can raise him or her and discipline them with out having someone like child services come out and tell you that you can't yell at your kid you can't spank your kid and then in the next 10 to 16 years see how your kid turns out and that just might answer your question right there.
Because if you think about it kids these days in America have it made if I ever disciplined my children like my mom and Dad did me or like how my Grandparents did my parents I would be locked away in Jail. So if you think about it the kids grow up with cocking a attitude with mom and dad and the rest of the world and no one can do anything to them.

I can't believe you used "French" and "class" in the same sentence.
shame on you.
that is just as bad as using "intestinal fortitude" and "French" in the same sentence.
yes, Americans do lack manners and decorum.
but they do not forget as easily as the British or French. They remember the sacrifices that others have made for them so that they could exist today.....something the French and British have not yet learned to do.....or forgotten how to do
there are literally thousands of American graves, of very brave Americans, in France and England....probably hundreds of thousands (as opposed to only a few French and precious few British soldier's graves in the U.S.).
you would think you could forgive us our sins of poor manners and lack of decorum in light of what we, Americans, have sacrificed for you.

Don't generalize grouping all into one just because of some bad apples.
Some Americans ARE raised with manners and respect.

Well lets see what class got you so far.
Class envy a couple of revolutions.
In England a cast system in the military where certain families become officers.
While here a farm boy from Kansas lead all of us to victory in WWII.
Yes we are rough bunch but we are the one the world calls on when they are in trouble.
