Racism is a sensitive topic, and I hope everyone here treats it as one.A person tends to identify more with another who has very similar physical traits. This is what kept all the tribal groups of thousands of years ago alive and intact.Today, in the U.S., many people believe nothing is more American than racism. Among most ethnicities light skin is highly adored and valued. I've heard African Americans make fun of each other for having dark skin. And no one is really American unless they have that typical Anglo-Saxon, Germanic look. When it comes to race wars, I usually see "white" (Germanic/Nordic) people as being the aggressors. I'm putting "white" in quotation marks because there is no such thing as a "white" race. In the U.S., "white" people are considered caucasian, but all of Western and Northern Europe is nowhere near the Caucusus Region.Real Caucasians can sometimes look almost Middle Eastern/Mediterranean.People in the U.S. try to be pc,I think they're far from it. Ideas ne1?

I rarely run into or come across other Natives. How many Native Americans are here? If you are a proud Native please check in and give your tribe. I'm Cheyenne Sioux.

Ok, I don't like to be called African American because I'm not from Africa and neither is my family. My family is Domincan, Jamanican, and Creole. I may have some African blood in me but it doesn't mae me African. Charlize Theron is African not me. I just feel when people call me African American they're tryin gto say that all Black people are African when clearly we are mixed with Native American, Chinese, and European.I prefer to be called Carribean America, West Indian, or just Black.

I am not trying to be racist or anything but I am curious because lately all that guys are interested in are girls who are light skinned, different color eyes, with long, and straight hair.

Ok, nowadays it's all about brand names and glittery stuff and crappy music and if ur white u have to be rich cuz if ur poor and white and u live in the ghetto than u don't fit in. Back in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s and beyond it was so different. Can anyone answer why it is like this now and does anyone agree with me?

Mass Media is one of the biggest tools in breaking down racial stereotypes and no one is more under represented than Asian American Males. Can someone out there answer the question, stir the pot and make this a question that shows up on the Yahoo Answers Main Page.

Our local paper did a long interview a while back with a woman who wanted to go nude in public. She already did the clothing optional beaches and the nudist resorts. Her lawsuit came when she was mowing her yard, in the nude, and got arrested. Interesting that NONE of the neighbors would file a complaint against her. But the law is the law. She argued in court that (a) because of Barbi, every person in American knows what a woman looks like with her clothes off (something I never thought of, but true!) and (b) because of porn, everyone knows what a female, any age, looks like. She concluded that God made woman last, because she was perfection. So why is everyone offended by the female body? There was no more articles on the outcome of the trial. And when I called and asked, no one called back.

If the law was changed, would you go nude in public if you wanted to? On Star Trek they talked about this issue where all women on one planet were nude so no man would lust after them.
