I know, seriously! Over in South Africa, I'm pretty sure girls have less chances to succeed than boys, much less black girls because it's still a very racist society over there.

I don't see the problem with Oprah doing anything to better the world. It is also her money. Who said she should spend money on Americans? I wouldn't say Americans have enough schools or that they aren't worthy and they will drop out. But in the US and Canada children all have the opportunity to attend school, as a matter of fact it is the law. Whereas in Africa, most children don't have that option. I think that it is great. Hopefully it will give many an opportunity that they otherwise wouldn't have had. I could see people wondering why if American was an underprivileged country that kids had no schools to go to. But this clearly isn't the case. But the bottom line is whether or not you or I agree with how she spends her money, it is hers to spend however she wants. I'm just glad she is doing some good. She also does alot for others in America and all over. I have seen her give away houses, cars and many other things on her shows.

Please, do your homework earlier you're making such assumptions. Oprah has reported that she gained't have both candidate on her teach, because she would not favor the teach to grow to be a political communicate board. She had Obama on earlier he prevalent the nomination. Sarah Palin wasn't even concept-about earlier to now, so it isn't going that Oprah would have huge-spread that she will be McCain's decision and advance an invite to her. each celebration isn't a reason to call it racism. Oprah is a billionaire. She did not get that wealthy (and he or she is unquestionably wealthy) by using being a racist. once you get to be a billionaire, money transcends race.

Oprah has made her millions from America and she is from here, its just too bad that she doesn't think American children deserve a decent education too, we do have many schools here, in some inner cities many children are hungry and don't have proper clothing, schools are falling apart and being closed down because they say there is not enough money to fix them. Oprah has said that she would rather help the African children because they would appreciate it more, all the American kids would do is ask for tennis shoes and I-Pods, she is stereotyping inner city children. I have lost respect for her. That fancy school she built cost about 40 million dollars, do you know how far that money would of went for some inner city schools? Someone has to think about the children here in the US, many of them need help too, but everyone always sends their money and help elsewhere.

You have got to be the stupidest person on the planet. The schools in America do not have enough money, and Oprah can spend her money whereever she pleases. This world is screwed up and if all the rich people donated 1% of what they make to better the world it would be a better place.

South Africa needs help, and if Oprah wants to build a school, why shouldn't she? It's her money. Would people be complaining if she bought a car? It's her decision.

It is none of anyone's business how Oprah or anyone else spends their own money. I think more attention should be spent on how the government spends their money.

I agree with you. Not to mention, money goes a LOT further in those countries. And Oprah gives tons of money to people here too. She has every right to give away her money to causes that she feels led to give to.
