Its that old "fear of the unknown" thing again.
If its different and I don't understand it.Then it must be bad or wrong.
Racism will eventually breed itself out.
Compare how far our rainbow world has come in 100 years.
Sadly the human is not as evolved socially as many would like to think.Humans are quite slow learners in this respect.
But the time will come.Just as the end of slavery and the master/ servant society ended.
Now, most cannot imagine how people acted like that.
We may have prejudice's with us for a while.
In many areas as that is far from just race related.
But I do think the death knoll of racism is tolling in the not to different future.
Next we must end religious prejudice.
Remember its only 30 years since sexual prejudice against women really began to show its back.
The human race has still a whole lot of learning to do, before we can claim to be much more than semi socialised animals with the ability to learn and think independently.
Am I racist? No. My family is already multiracial and proud of it.Scotish,English,French,
Italian,Mexican Latino,White American.White Australian and Arabic!

Yes, I do think that it's still an active social issue.
Because I feel like whenever you are in a large group of people, there will always be one group picking out the flaws in another. There are 6 billion people on this earth, not everyone is going to like everyone else and people will discriminate.
No, I'm not racist. I'd like to think that I see the beauty in all ethnicities, cultures and religions. I think that stems from the fact that I grew up a little bit overseas and I've been able to travel and expirience new things my whole life.
I think a lot of racism comes from ignorance, people that just don't really know any better. And hopefully, someday, that will change.

Why does every one run from this attack word? Worse than that they lie to make themselves appear as a saint. It is automatically assumed that a racist is white and white only. Nothing could be further from the truth. Single out any ethnic group and you will find prejudices.
Several years ago in applying for a job all applicants were given a lie detector test. Most applicants were white and a few black. There were two key questions. The first was, "Have you ever stolen anything?". The second was , "Are you racially prejudice?" There were about 120 applicants. Of 120 people, would you like to know who was the only thieving bigot there? You guessed it. ME!!!!!! Wondering who got the job? Well again ME. Apparently, I was the only one who was not afraid to tell the truth.
Truth will always prevail as opposed to a lie. A lie will never mask the truth.
What did I steal? Something of no value. Nevertheless it was stealing. As for the Racism mostly against hard charging groups. One on one, we can usually work it out.

as long as there are different races, there will be racism. there are scholarships and other activities based on race alone which doesnt help the fact. I do not consider myself racist, but i believe that if there is a scholarship or a choir for another race, whites should be able to do the same thing... though I dont think that would go over very well.. basically, until we're all one race, racism will exist.. and it sucks

Do you think that racism is still active in this period of time?
Ans: yes it is, unfortunately.
Why?
Ans: because there will always be people who fear the unknown. When you don't know about something you are afraid of it.
Are you racist?
Ans: No, I am married to a black African man and I am a white American woman. This is how I know there is still racism, we experience it all the time.

Racism is an issue that is mostly dishonest. Today, very few white people harbor attitudes of racism. What little there is tends to be harbored by liberals who exploit people of color for political reasons. Ironically, extreme racism, hate, and a desire to do violence are epidemic among people of color, especially blacks, particularly against jews and whites. Racism is so prevalent among minorities that there is extreme hate among subtypes. For example, haitians, africkaners and african americans all hate each other with a passion, as do mexicans from southern verses northern mexico. And by hate, I mean they attempt to exterminate each other as part of violent paramilitary drug gangs..
These are the true faces of racism mostly ignored or even covered up by liberals who attempt to use guilt over racist attitudes from generations ago as a political manipulation. The irony is that marxism, the root of liberalism, has a long history of the ultimate racist ideal......genocide. Far from being ignorant of this, every single generation of liberals since World War I has sought to aid various regimes, from nazi germany, russia, china, north korea, vietnam, cambodia, and now the middle east and africa in committing this heinous crime against humanity. Mostly, they work politically to prevent the western world from intervening. One scary thing was during the recent unprovoked, genocidal attack by lebanon on israel, liberals around the world worked over time to advance the ridiculous assertion that the jews simply did not have the right to fight back against thousands of missiles being shot into their country, decimating a full one half of the land mass there. On various liberal blogs like the daily KOS, liberals went so far as to assert that the jews ought to be exterminated in order ensure peace in the middle east. KOS tracks the popularity of its postings and those particular threads all gathered 90% plus approval ratings. Truly scary stuff.

Racism is very much alive, and is propagated by all races, because as long as there is any chance that someone might gain an advantage over another by using race as an issue, it will be maintained. As long as there is something to be gained by claiming race as an issue, it will be maintained.

yes. i owned a shop and a few shops down was mary's beauty shop. mary came in and said that Sandy across the street at her shop was racist. (mary is black) i asked her why she thought that and she said because she brought over your food that you ordered. and she wouldn't bring my food over. i thought that was silly. so i asked Sandy about it and she told me her helper girl went home and she couldn't leave her shop. so mary assumed sandy was racist. Mary never even spoke to sandy. i told mary that and she was mad for a couple of days. but it sure did help mary understand not assume. i'm not racist at all. i can be friends with all types of people. i made friends with an indian couple that live downstairs. they now give me food from india. alot of people think they are nasty dirty people. i don't think so.
