Racism is a sensitive topic, and I hope everyone here treats it as one.A person tends to identify more with another who has very similar physical traits. This is what kept all the tribal groups of thousands of years ago alive and intact.Today, in the U.S., many people believe nothing is more American than racism. Among most ethnicities light skin is highly adored and valued. I've heard African Americans make fun of each other for having dark skin. And no one is really American unless they have that typical Anglo-Saxon, Germanic look. When it comes to race wars, I usually see "white" (Germanic/Nordic) people as being the aggressors. I'm putting "white" in quotation marks because there is no such thing as a "white" race. In the U.S., "white" people are considered caucasian, but all of Western and Northern Europe is nowhere near the Caucusus Region.Real Caucasians can sometimes look almost Middle Eastern/Mediterranean.People in the U.S. try to be pc,I think they're far from it. Ideas ne1?

Topics do not have the wherewithal to be sensitive - it is the people. I do my best to answer questions regardless of my personal sensitivity and bias. I do agree with you on all this craziness which society has constructed into race because lumping people into color groups is largely ignorant "black", "white", etc. But people love associations and since not many people can recognize the difference between a German and a Swede, a Nigerian and a Ethiopian, Korean from Japanese, etc., people tend to lump them together in one seemingly recognizable group. But again I reiterate that is is the emotional ties to "race" the disengage or "over-engage" discussions on race...

By the way... political correctness is very surface because it is just looking out on sensitivity's behalf - when we do this how will we ever get to a solution or will it continue to come in outbursts (i.e. the police shooting of that young "black" man in NYC, or the guy from Seinfeld "losing it")

There is many truth in what you said. I can say for being a black person that the way many black people treat eachother, it just makes more room for others to play along. If we all thought that racism would be over after MLK's speach, we were sadly mistaken. The verbal and physical abuse is now worse these days. We may have freedom, but what do we do with it? Bash eachother because our life isn't good, or because we want to be gready, we want to be ignorant. And I know many people who think like me and say "Well this is the reason people are racist" when they see the bull we do and say to eachother. Anyone can be racist, but at times it's like you have to look at your race and see why this comes about. And when people talk stupidy with that racist talk, it just screams for more hatred and division. I hope for a resolution.
