It’s NOT the seventies anymore. Let's stop this trend now. If certain black people think they're connecting with their culture by giving them fake names, they're not. They're actually disasscociating themselves from their ancestors if not pissing on their heritage. Your African-American ancestors had names like Sam, Ella, and Dinah Mae and your African ancestors had names like Menes, Suah and Orbour. NOT LaTrina and D'Ronique or whatever. So cut the crap. They're NOT you're culture. Oh yeah, and I think Latrina is Latin for toilet.

And please don’t pull the “slave name” card. After slavery black people still WILLFULLY gave their kids American names. Why? Cause they're American and didn't want to self segregate and demean themselves. They had integrity. So give your child either an American name, or an African name, but NOT a fake name. Self-segregation only causes more racial tension and prejudice. We don't want that. Latin and Asian-Americans give their kids real names. Why don’t you do the same? I’m just thankful my mama and dad were sober when naming us. And I’m proud to be black, so please don’t pull that “self-hatred” card. I’m just part of real black culture and am in touch with my roots, not psuedoblack culture.

With all that i see on t.v, school, magizines and other sources, i would like to know why girls hate their bodies or themselves. I always here things like i hate my weight or thighs or i wish i was a boy becuase boys hve better clothes in things like that. I know girls have a lot more to deal with as far as body and body image, but i wonder why they say things like that. I just want to say that i love girls and don't like to see them act in this way. I also wonder why girls are so aggresive with other girls. is this just a myth or is this true?

I know that not too long ago, Merry Christmas became Happy Kwanza for many African Americans. Though I understand that they are trying to keep their roots, I lived in Ivory Coast for three years and no one heard of Kwanza. My friend from Ghana says that Kwanza is made up by African Americans trying to add a 'black culture' to Christmas. Is he right? If not, can someone please explain where Kwanza derives from (Is it Swahili?).

There are thousands of black teachers who lift up, motivate, and struggle with students in inner cities all over America yet the movie industry sends the kids a "savior"/"angel", who at first struggles to gain their respect, and then fits in like they figured it all out..If it weren't for Sydney Poitier in To Sir With Love.......C'mon Hollywood..A little respect!

Even if you've never dated a black woman before and you know you never will because of whatever reason. Do you find some black women attractive? If so, would you not ask one out because of intimidation or because you know someone in your family might freak out?

Ancient Romans (according to murals, statues, artifacts and the cast of HBO's "Rome" ha ha) were brunette Caucasians with tawny, fairish skin. They did not look Mediterranean.

When I think of someone from Rome today, I think of and see dark skin, dark brunette hair, very dark eyes.

Why is this?

I got a quick question for ya'll. Why does everyone think the rebel flag is racist? I have a rebel flag hat, shirt, license plate on my truck and even a rebel flag tattoo.... I ain't the least bit racist! The rebel flag is just the flag of the south, it represents heritage, not hate. The racist rebel flag is the flag of the KKK with the KKK cross in the middle of it, replacing the middle star. What are your thoughts about this and why do people think it's racist?

many friends. Why is it that those of us who set people straight, are disliked and they are afraid to say anything to you and would rather go behind your back because they are cowards. This is a tough world. Everyone better learn how to survive.

What might be your opinion of a woman who feels a need to display provocative T & A pics of herself online & say they're there not to attract men, but solely because "it's who she is & feels great & sexy about herself"?

Assertive, strong woman...or a total load of BS? Feels a need for attention etc?
