Black Americans have a culture as long as the beginning of America.
My family isn't from America but I was born an American.
For you to ask this question means that you might not have traveled enough in America to experience things like Juneteenth.
Various forms and styles of entertainment, cuisine, art, and war tactics come from Black American culture, to say the least.
Black American culture is under-rated and lacks the thank you's it deserves.
It is continously in front of you. You just don't know its there for reasons that don't pertain to this question.

African-Americans came to America as slaves around the 1600s and started life here, so that over 400 years of history. People from Africa have a long history, even longer than Europeans. Comparing European History to African-American history really isn't fair.

What are you talking about? Black Americans do have a "long" culture. A lot of people just don't care to learn it and research it. When you're in grade school and high school they only teach you about Martin Luther King not all the things that happened long before he was thought of.

HUH?! Okay, the Black American culture began in the 1600s unlike the Europeans. It doesn't just consist of music and sports as many believe. For many Blacks our history begins on the plantation. For others who are lucky enough to trace their lineage, theirs began in Africa. Amazingly, many South Africans believe that their history began in the 1800s. Why? Because many of their history books that talk about African kings and queens were destroyed during the Apartheid.

P.S.
And as quiet as it's kept, many Black Americans share the same culture as many Europeans seeing as though many White slave owners fathered Black children.

So you slept during your history classes, right. When did we get a chance to develop a culture in between the whipping, the rapings, the cotton picking, and raising white children. Then of course there was the time when black people were thrown into the world without a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out of. If you can find a space where we could have gone to school, got a superior education, been accepted into society and traveled the world to see how others lived so we could refine our style and become part of gentle society in the 1800's (like whites did) then I am wrong. Think out your question before you ask.

Blacks are apart of the African culture through their ancestors.
To put it short - Black Americans/ African Americans are another
branch of African w/addmixture, like the Blacks/African Carribeans,
Afro-Mexicans, Adamenese, Afro-Europeans (Britians, etc.) and more due to the slave trade.

Since you ask, blacks history begins in Africa, since they have African Ancestors. (Stronger Genetics dominance is African in many ways).
Haters, please do not wind. African came before ****#r, stupid.

If you care to read the novel "Roots", you would find that black americans have a culture which dates back to their african roots before they were forcibly brought to the "New World" to make the rich whites richer.

They do, but they just don't take the initiative to look for it like their Euro-American counterparts. If you really search for 'black' culture you'll find a lot of beautiful things.

First of all, they do. There is so much amazing history that we don't know all about because they were uprooted and brought here as slaves. Then they were not allowed to sing their songs or share their stories.
