there would less noise and bamble that all rap is. Less egostical fools like 50 cent, Kanye West and Pdiddy. Also alot of people could look up to other professions other than rapper. Less violent fools aswell, rap promotes that crap aswell

Rap music isn't the problem its gangster rap. I mean are "The Roots", "Arrested Development", "De La Soul" dangerous?????????

I think more black men would be alive if they didn't live in housing projects that looked like bombed out sections of Beirut. Honestly, you think rappers started rapping and then the drugs and gangs came or are they rapping about the way they grow up and how many blacks still grow up?

What came first the chicken or the egg...I say the violence came first, then the voices that sang about the violence and then the people living in the Ghettos saying "they singing about me" .

Its these suburban kids trying to live like Ghetto kids is the problem. Rap didn't start the ghetto, it only sings about the realities and the mentality of the ghetto.

Change the ghetto, change the lyrics...Or you can do the typical American thing and blame the messenger.

Oh please, rappers like Tupac took on the whole world to show people in the ghetto that there was still hope. Alot of rap has helped many people out of bad situations. Maybe your just thinking of the garbage stuff today, well rap used to be a very valid genre. Many people can relate to rap music. If you're struggling financially or your a kid who gets beaten up at skool or many other things you can relate to what their saying and help the situation. Rap doesn't simply glorify violence and ignorant lifestyle. When rap was what it was supposed to be it was either getting messages across to people or expressing yourself and talking about what happens in the ghetto. People just don't understand it.

That would be an accomplishment for "blacks" to figure out. I'm sure they have their own plans. Why when people mention rap music, to them, rap music automatically equals the bad or only problem core of America? What about porn? No body says a thing, because their a$$es are addicted. Is it more a problem than the columbine shootings? Video games was the blame and they show all kinds of sexually explicit acts and crude language. Plus, rock music says vulger things explaining murder, raping women, kidnapping and saying: *****, h3ll and F*ck. All of these things are an effect of society's morals that have been passively excepted that have affect it's consumers. Are you going to do something about these problems too?

So judge, unless you be judged.
What would America be like without slavery and racism?

Mmm. I like rap and hip-hop. It's the best bar music. Dancing in general would suck without it (no more grinding for the boys). And how could that pounding beat not lift your mood, whether you're lifting weights/working out or sitting around.

I hardly think blaming gang-related murders on rap music is justifiable. Rap music is only a part of particular black subcultures, only some of which are involved in illegal business or drug sales. Granted, it of course doesn't offer the best portrayal of women, but, luckily - in the same way that I don't blow up my school after watching 'Fight Club' or shoot my neighbor after playing the video game 'Medal of Honor' - I don't "listen to" or copy everything that comes at me from the media. Most people don't.

Anyway, you could consider the '60s-'70s rock scene the same phenomenon: how many band members between Led Zeppelin and the Who and Pink Floyd and I-can't-even-name-all-of-them drank or drugged themselves to death? What a great "example" to set for their fans. Several kids even killed themselves after Kurt Cobain's suicide. Rap music is certainly not the sole problematic member of the pop genres.

Black women and women in general, would be treated with more respect. Ever notice that when rap first came about there were actual uplifting messages and things to learn from the songs. The lyrics were clean and women were referred to as "ladies, girls, women, etc." Now it's b*tch this and h* that with n*gga thrown in after every other word. There are still good inspirational rappers out there but they are few and far between. So to answer your question, I wouldn't do away with all rap--just the negative crap.

the world would be better without rap( i omit the term music, because it is not really music. it is more in the category of noise.) there is nothing good about rap. did you know that originally there was a "c" at the beginning. everybody cries racist if you say any thing negative about blacks, but yet, rappers can denigrade women, children, whites, and everyone else and it is considered an art form.the moral decay of america is because of rap.

I think nothing would really change. Music is music. Adults in the 60's thought that rock music was evil and caused violence. They thought Elvis was what a lot of people think of rappers today. Music is just a sign of the times. it's a byproduct, not cause.
