Just who are people trying to impress with cliche and pandering soap box speeches about how everyone is special, judgements are wrong, and we're all beautiful? Do they expect the Nobel Prize Committee to knock on their door and give them an award for sucking upto everyone?

I'm Indian & know a lot of people who still practice marriage arrangements. Personally, I don't get it and can't see how you can meet someone one day & marry them the next. It seems odd and very superficial. I know a lot of the men hate their wives & vice versa. Why is this so appealing & why hasn't the tradition died out yet?

I wouldn't ordinarily do this but I see so many trolls, morons, and flat out jealous people here on Yahoo answers who use this place to make rude statements or absurd generalizations about white women that I had to say something. As a white man I believe we are incredibly blessed and fortunate to have white women as our counter parts, white women are beautiful, caring, intelligent, sweet, strong, sympathetic, great mothers, and great partners. White women are great and certainly deserve to hear it as often as possible, so I would just like to say that on behalf of white men that white women are amazing and we are truly lucky.

Is it possible for a person of African/Black descent to have blue eyes? This is a subject I have been debating with a couple of people I know, who some feel that the gene is to recessive, and others swear they have seen it. Is it possible?

I'd like an honest answer. Why are so many whites so bent out of shape by the existence of historically black colleges and universities ("HBCUs")? Is it just the name? Would "Historically Black Due to White Racial Exclusion and Now Open To All" be a better name? EVERY HBCU welcomes students of all races and each has white and other non-black students, including increasingly many from overseas. There are over 35,000 white students attending HBCUs and approx. one third of the faculty are white. http://www.bet.com/News/hbcus.htm
Clearly these schools are not excluding non-blacks and it's very easy to find this out with a couple of net searches. So what's the beef? Looks to me like those who claim that HBCUs are evidence of reverse racism are wilfully ignorant. Maybe they're just looking for an easy excuse for their own racism. If you aren't a racist and have a principled objection to HBCUs speak up.

I've been spouting off this stat left and right, but I think it's pretty important: human beings share 85% of their genetics traits, regardless of race. I think everyone makes way too much out of superficial differences between us. All this does is serve to separate us and convince us that we can't get along. We can and should.

If you are an attractive woman who has, or would, use sex, or the implied offer thereof, for favors, and a guy rebuffs one of those offers, even though he's not attached to anyone else, and not homosexual, what did, and would, you think of him? Are men that can resist you a turn on or do they anger you?

I asked a question earlier today regarding Americans view on interracial dating between Caucasians and African-Americans (look back in my info for more details!). Now I want to know if you are Caucasian or African-American, would you date a Caucasian if your African-American or an African-American if you are Caucasian? Why or why not?

If they have always been Christianized and or Westernized, has this anything to do with the history of Western influence in, say, Africa, for example - such as Rome's influence during imperial times and the influence of Saint Augustine Of Hippo etc?

If black Americans did once have their own religion, culture and language, what happened to it all? Have they become assimilated?

I am trying to be as neutral as possible - and peace to those of African decent - so please try and understand my question, which is geared towards culture and religion (and it is not about racism).

Ironically, my friend has the opposite problem.

In these times when we are burying good American Soldiers in a horrible 3rd world country, and remembering the outcome of every other horrible conflict especially WW11, why do people still hold on to symbols like the swaztika, the sickel, the iron fist, etc., and insist on fighting a losing battle? Insulting isnt it? Personally doesnt it insult your intelligence, and your whole being as an American?

Do you go by the race of your father (black, but very light) or your mother (who is white)? To look at him, he looks white. You would never know that his father is black.

If it's true? I have found plenty of websites that say "normal, regular" Asians "on average" hate blacks even more than nazi KKK whites. So why am I considered racist if I show everyone that "All to most" asians hate blacks, when it's the truth? They love/adore/prefer whites though, and that is the truth. And yes I am black, a very consious black person that is aware of the surrounding of the world.

Should America be a society that values and promotes it's various ethnic and cultural backgrounds? Should America be a country where many languages are spoken, many diverse traditions are observed and respected? Or should all people, regardless of ethnicity, religion or history, be expected to conform to a homogenous norm?
