Is it possible for a person of African/Black descent to have blue eyes? This is a subject I have been debating with a couple of people I know, who some feel that the gene is to recessive, and others swear they have seen it. Is it possible?

I have definitely saw blue eyed african-americans, now i cant tell you if they had any caucasion blood in them but the blue eyes wouldnt have been dominant anyway. So i believe anything is possible, YES!!!

Yes. Unless they can trace their heredity all the way back to Shaka Zulu, and every single branch of their family tree is African; then yup. Even still ; there may be Africans with blue eyes. I used to have a little girl at my daycare who was black with blue eyes, her & her dad had blue-not grey; no hazel; blue eyes. Genes can skip generations That's why two darker skinned people can have a light baby. There are even cases where twins are born & one is black & the other is white. You never know which way that dna & genectics are going to mix in the womb.

Yes, as most Black Americans have as least some white ancestry, the recessive gene will show up at some point.
I have even noticed some of the black children I work with have golden eyes, the color of fine sherry.

Smokey eyes will make the blue pop out. With grey or black. Or maybe a warm but darkish brown. I'd have to look at your eyes, and expiriment with makeup, so why don't you do that? Try contrasting colors, even contrasting clothes depending on the color will possibly make the blue in them pop. It sounds like you have hazel eyes, and the colors in my mom's (she has hazel eyes) mabeline (I think it's mabeline) has greys and blacks in it. It will probably bring out the green and the blue though. Just expiriment around a bit. Keep it nice though... don't want to look like a hooker.

Yes it is indeed possible. Infact, I have several african american friends with blue or green eyes. Also, I used to babysit a black boy that was ALBINO. Yeah, it was a bit odd looking....he had completely black features but lighter skin than me, white hair, and blue eyes.

Of course it's possible.....tho' brown eyes are dominant. If there has been genetic mixing of the races in the lineage, then blue eyes could appear.
