Why do you limit yourself to these professions? How about lawyers, doctors and politicians, newspeople union leaders and even our friends. There is a difference between coercion and persuasion and adults have free will and can make their own mind up.Even in a dictatorial state people find subterfuges to get around the ukases of their leaders(black markets, sabotage etc.).

Preachers, or at least the ones who lead an organization, yes. I feel they know exactly what their doing and they don't care whether their beliefs are real or not, just as long as they get that tax-free money. Learn to develop inner strength within to avoid being snared by their deceptive teachings. Teachers are pretty much getting paid to do what they do best...Teach. They get their orders from a school board and the community. Whatever they teach that doesn't sit well in your head, unlearn what you've been taught, and fill that space with knowledge that does. Parents...They are pretty much taught with what their parents and the rest of their ancestors taught them on how to raise their children, at least the ones who like to stick with old ideals and refuse to learn to adapt and evolve themselves to modern family living.

Preachers (or other religious leaders) may do this; personally, I wouldn't stick with a religion or a religious leader who didn't challenge me to do my own thinking on issues. The job of a good teacher is to provide information and implant ideas, not to suppress them. If you have a teacher who tries to manipulate you, it's time to find another teacher! As to parents - it's partially the job of a parent to teach basic ethics and mores to their children, so they can function in society. If you don't like what you were taught as a child, then start reading and thinking for yourself, instead of complaining - sounds like you're trying to blame somebody else for your own lack of originality.
