I'm an African-American female. I have dated men from different ethnicities and they have all taught me something about their culture, and vice versa. I wasn't raised to be closed minded and I like it that way. Even if my family was racist, I believe that i would still date, or even marry, outside my race.
At the end of the day, a man is a man, and a woman is a woman. So why let a stupid thing like race/culture get in the way of your happiness.

I'm Black and have dated mostly Whites since I was a teen. For some reason, there's a mutual attraction there. Usually, they approach me. Most have been from Europe also. I used to question the whole thing when I was in my teens, but decided not to let outside pressures dictate who I would, or would not be with. Besides, I've found that most people who date interracially have a strong sense of self (don't care what others think), and are independent, free thinkers. There are allot of different flavors out there. Take your pick.

I am Caucasian and have never dated an African-American before. If the right man came along, I doubt race would be an issue. It's not an issue when I choose my friends.

I'm half-Caucasian, and half-Persian. Generally, most of the guys I've dated have been Caucasian, or half-Caucasian. But I have nothing against dating within a different "ethnic" group. Personally, I find it hard to distinguish ethnic groups in America sometimes, since I grew up in an mixed community, with many different "minority" groups and all the social classes. Who I love is who I love.

I'm an African American, and I have never dated anyone outside of my race. I'm open to it; I've just never had the opportunity. I've heard from other interracial couples that it's hard because society looks down on them, but I'm gay, a woman, and I'm black so I can deal with the hate and the stares from ignorant people. I think our different cultures and the way we do things would be a challenge for me. But then, what relationship doesn't have challenges?

Sure would, depending on the person of course. My fiance could be classified as 'caucasian', but she is ethnically Persian. I've dated several 'white' women before as well though.

I would date anyone I cared for, regardless of race. When I was younger, that would not have been true, because of my family. I knew my dad and brother were terribly prejudice and would have a problem with it. Well.... my brother's daughter (my niece) who I am so proud of.... married a black guy a couple of years ago.
My mom told me my dad and brother were very upset about it, but Mary was determined, so they backed off. They've gotten to know her husband now and are ok with it.
As they were planning the wedding, I was so happy Mary had the wherewithall to stand up to it and go with her heart! She was a beautiful bride! :o)
Now, since I've been attracted to them for a long time..... where is a good Latino man? :o)
Best Wishes,
Sue

If you have a strong, personal relationship with God first, dating someone out your culture should not be a problem. If you were to strip the outer skin, all of us have the same body parts (muscles, arteries, etc..) and the only thing couples have in common is their solid relationship with God and His teachings.
But in society (unfortunately) you are at odds dating someone out your culture. People snicker, point fingers, make comments at hearing distance, plus the fact your family is racist makes it no easier (especially your parents & grandparents who have witness racial prejudice back in the day). Then you have to deal with the cultural differences, which could drive you nuts because you're constantly arguing.

I am a 61 yr. old single Caucasian woman and I'm still dating. I have dated Caucasian men and African-American as well as men of Hispanic, Native American and Asian heritage. As to "why" it is because I date men...not racial heritages. I have met men of all heritages that are really cool people and others that I wouldn't date even if they were polka dotted. My criteria in a date choice is that the dude is fun to be with and interesting to talk to. If I misunderstood your question and you were refering to sexual dating...the same criteria applies. I, also go to bed with fun and interesting people...not racial heritages.
