My kids are half & half. I'm black and the dad is white. They are very light skinned (right now). What should be listed as their race on surveys, forms, questionare's, etc? Is mom more dominant because she gave birth or dad because of male genes? I ask presently because my daughter is with a talent agency and can only list ONE race apparently. how does she get noticed in either category?

How does the government define you're race(i.e, forms that ask you whats your race?) My mom has some white, black and native american. Im a mix of white, black, and native american. This mixture was started in 4 generations(i.e. great grandparent, grand parent, mom and me. My dad is mostly black but his mom has some other stuff. What am I?

What makes personality cultural?

My culture ( i live in the uk), in the west. Why does the western culture value sociability more than shyness, so extroversion is regarded more favourably. So the west find people who are perceived as warm and competent liked far more than others?

The halo effect. It appears that positive traits are associated with physical attractiveness across the world. Wheeler and Kim (1997) found that American and Canadian students (individualist society) expected people to be assertive and strong. While Korean students (collectivist society) expected people to be sensitive and generous.

To me, that was the most preposterous and illogical thing i've ever heard. Why is this so? Why do different countries expect different things? If I wanted to get what I want in life, I wouldn't get it being shy, and sensitive I have to stamp myself on the ground as in my school I cannot conform to any group. even when it is the current white culture of today that is being treated the worst.

Calling people crackers, brits, yanks is fine.
Calling someone a paki, a ****** is wrong.

Letting aboriginals go to school for free is right.
Making EVERYONE else pay is right.

I'm not racist against any race in particular, but I'm racist aginst people who make race claims that they are being treated unfairly.

I don't deny that people were treated extremely poorly in the past (slaves, japanese canadians during WWII etc.)

But a white, black, mexican, aboriginal or spanish kid should all have the same oppurtunities today, not giving affirmitive actions (positive or negative) because of what happend in the past.

I received nasty e-mails from people attacking me because I expressed my disgust with a horrible racist. I would just like to know what most people think about this subject. I was called a silly white girl for defending black people because I myself am white! The first people had dark skin when they evolved into humans (Homosapiens). The reason for the dark skin - High melanin - was to shield from the UV rays of the African sun. Black people began many civilisations, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Australia, Indonesia, America to name a few. Problems came when people without color (Whites) started travelling abroad overseas. They then often murdered the Native (Blacks) and called the land theirs. The Pyramid and the Great Sphynx of Egypt were created by Black Egyptians. The nose of the Sphynx was lost because White people shot it to make it unclear of the ******* features. White people has muddled up the history for Black people. But when you piece it back together you can find that all people on Earth have a percent of Black genes in them. There are more people on earth with dark skin than white skin.
