I grew up inSouth Africa where "Coloured" is a distinctive race group - the descendents of the white people and the indigenous Hottentots. While Black people are the Black tribes, the Xhosas, the Zulus etc etc. It's never occurred to me that calling anyone "Coloured" is offensive - stupid, but not offensive. I hate calling people "White", "Black", "Jew" or anything like that, anyway. I do't like labels. I'm not white - I'm sort of pinky caramel. But some people seem to find it deeply offensive and I'd like an explanation of why.

....do you think that such a thing as battle of the sexes is as much of a big deal, according to yourself, as it is generally perceived to be?

its just that when i hang out with and get along with a lot of males, particularly during the years when i had made more male friends than i did with female ones back at school, i've never really encountered that male vs female problem and i never went along with that belief that men see themselves as being superior to women and women being better than men. from a very young age, i was brought up to respect both genders and to accept that women and men have their own faults, as well as that no one gender is better than the other.

therefore, speaking from personal experience, the battle of the sexes thing hardly exists, yet i am also aware of the fact that gender inequality is still a issue yet to be resolved, in regards to equal pay and a father's right to see his kids, when say a marriage breaks down.

what do you guys, think?

Everyone I know says it's French heritage with African descent, but my social studies teacher says it's Spainish and something else mixed. Everyone in my family has at least a little creole in them. I'm also 13% French. The rest is Irish, Native American Jewish, and somewhere African descent. According to my grandmother, she hasn't heard of anyone being African in our family, and we can track our history down about 400 years.

now im not generalizing all of them only the ones i've met
i've noticed when they come to america they only seem
social with whites or asians why do you think that is?

i even talked to one on this dumb internet thing on her way
to america who admitted she'd most likely only talk with whites
and said (and i quote believe it or not)-i would probably be prejudice to<<
and thats just from what that person saw in movies and on tv

now i know the race issue is a senative subject but
some things are annoying and should be talked about

anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

do you think it's because of how other american races a portrayed in the media why people from other countries look at

american whites as the only socialable race in america

your thoughts please (and please nobody say im being racist it's to late at night i havnt taken my meds and i dont wanna hear it)

i am a cuacasian girl and i find that i am extremely attracted to mexicans, i love latino music and i love the traditions of the mexicans and believe in the mexican-catholic beliefs...

i do not find this weird but other people do especially mexicans.

i grew up in san diego so i have been around hispanic culture alot and i do not find anything wrong with this but people seem to be very hateful towards the fact that they think i want to be mexican.

but the fact of the matter is im not trying to be mexican it is just i do not have a very culturally rich backround so growing up in san diego, alot of the mexican traditions have become a big part of my personal culture.

what is your opinion on this?

they seem to stereotype me because of being a cuacasian girl and alot of people say that i come of as soewhat snobby and closed minded but in reality i am one of the most openminded people you will meet.

how can i come off as more open to all races including the latino race? because i come to find people of different ethnicities some of the most amazing people.

Rumors are my family was involved in it..When your heritage is involved in it..does that mean that you are still apart of it. Does it pass through the generation? I heard that the Knights Templar started it...I just have a lot of questions about it and I don't know where to start. Anyone have information about Freemasons and the Knights Templar and if...it carries through the generations..like being passed down? Help please...
