i am a cuacasian girl and i find that i am extremely attracted to mexicans, i love latino music and i love the traditions of the mexicans and believe in the mexican-catholic beliefs...

i do not find this weird but other people do especially mexicans.

i grew up in san diego so i have been around hispanic culture alot and i do not find anything wrong with this but people seem to be very hateful towards the fact that they think i want to be mexican.

but the fact of the matter is im not trying to be mexican it is just i do not have a very culturally rich backround so growing up in san diego, alot of the mexican traditions have become a big part of my personal culture.

what is your opinion on this?

Wow, this is a tough one, Let me collect my thoughts and try to answer.

Since you grew up with this music, beliefs, and people around you. You have adopted this culture as your own. (and it could be your culture since in all actuallity you grew up in it or you have adopted it) (Mexophile...LOL you have become) The mexicans have a beautiful and colorful culture, a beautiful land. The might not hate you for this. but does not understand completely, Do you speak spanish? (usually it is the language that divides)

Appreciate the culture, enjoy it, look around the world there is many different people that adopts different back grounds.

Me as I am an American, I enjoy and celebrate coming from a nation that is such historically rich in dinosaur fossils, native american culture, pueblo houses, giant trees and yes the mixture and celebration of culture. (You are an american that enjoyes the more mexican influence of our culture, and that is o.k.)

Well you may not be 'from' Mexican blood but it is obviously a part of your culture and nothing you should be ashamed by. From an anthropological stand point this is very common that people who live among migratory cultures or cultures that have been exposed to a certain bordering region have a major influence. Hence the Greeks taught the Romans etc etc. So in my opinion the people who are criticizing you regarding this are being closed minded. People generally respect others who live similarly to them or try to adapt to a similar lifestyle.

I think its culture. I find a lot of people who say exactly what you say about different cultures. The problem is that in America, many traditions are killed and made less wonderful by the over-commercialization and corporatization of everything. So you feel like you have no culture.

Just enjoy dabbling in different cultures. I think that is really the true American spirit and something I think is a Good Thing.

You go with what feels right for you - - the fact that other people find it weird will just help you to distance yourself from them. I live in Thailand because I like the language and culture - it is a totally different way of thought from the Western world - - it is your life - and nobody else is living it but you - - enjoy every minute
