Rumors are my family was involved in it..When your heritage is involved in it..does that mean that you are still apart of it. Does it pass through the generation? I heard that the Knights Templar started it...I just have a lot of questions about it and I don't know where to start. Anyone have information about Freemasons and the Knights Templar and if...it carries through the generations..like being passed down? Help please...

Freemasonry is the oldest fraternal organization in the world. Some say that when the Knights Templar decided to go underground they formed the Free Masons, although this is disputed. Joining the Masons is somthing that each person has to do for themselves. It is not passed on from generation to generation. I am not sure about the Knights Templar, but I suspect that they did pass this on to their descendants.

It's a fraternal organization.
Nothing more.
