How does the government define you're race(i.e, forms that ask you whats your race?) My mom has some white, black and native american. Im a mix of white, black, and native american. This mixture was started in 4 generations(i.e. great grandparent, grand parent, mom and me. My dad is mostly black but his mom has some other stuff. What am I?

Good question! I am also mixed-race but have no idea about my fathers race. My mother was white. I am probably of a similar complexion to you so some people assume that I am white whilst others assume I am black. Official forms always provide very narrow options for indicating race so I really struggle with attempting to define myself in such terms. My only definition for myself is mixed-race. Others can define me as they see fit. I'll still sleep at night.

If you are unsure as to what to fill in those forms. Here is what I would do.a.Ask the person in charge of the form.b.If they are not sure, then mark every race that applies to you.
Great question though.

You can be whatever you consider yourself to be. I would say you are white, black, and native american. It doesn't really matter, does it?

The government doesn't define your race.

They give you a list of options to choose from, and let you define your race.

None of us can answer the question except for you.

To my understanding, you define your ethnicity according to your father's side..
