even when it is the current white culture of today that is being treated the worst.

Calling people crackers, brits, yanks is fine.
Calling someone a paki, a ****** is wrong.

Letting aboriginals go to school for free is right.
Making EVERYONE else pay is right.

I'm not racist against any race in particular, but I'm racist aginst people who make race claims that they are being treated unfairly.

I don't deny that people were treated extremely poorly in the past (slaves, japanese canadians during WWII etc.)

But a white, black, mexican, aboriginal or spanish kid should all have the same oppurtunities today, not giving affirmitive actions (positive or negative) because of what happend in the past.

And you are 100% right! Most gvnments in so-called civilized countries do not understand that treating minorities like little toddlers they foster envy, hatred and despite among neighboring ethnic groups. This policy would destroy any multiethnic country sooner or later!

So, calling a black or asian person a derogative term is wrong, but calling a white person cracker is right? Eh?? Cracker is an offensive term, just like ****** or paki is.

Discrimination is when a culture, race, gender, sexuality or age group etc is not treated the same as others. This is wrong. So an aboriginal person ( I assume an Aussie one) goes to school for free, is right, but everyone else has to pay. This is unfair treatment, as it is not equal or the same. In terms of paying it is wrong and seems preferential. To give someone the right to an education and helping them do so is fine, but do not think for a momnet it is fair. It is not.

Unfortunatley though, you have to do the wrong thing, to do the right thing.

Because there are still very powerful racial undertones in our society. There is also a lot of ignorance and a lot of discrimination.

Is it fair that you get called a cracker? No, it's not. Is it fair that people call me ******* or beaner? No. But things like that still happen.

And there is discrimination. Just read some of the things people post. It's disgusting what people will say when they don't have to see the human element and can just bash a race without any qualms.

There's an article written by a Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson focusing on some of the things that happened in New Orleans during and after Katrina. Surely it's on the web somewhere. Find it and read it and it will help answer the "Why" in your question.

People feel discriminated against because a lot of times they are discriminated against. You can see how much racism is still alive in this world just by scrolling through a lot of the questions on here.
Just because maybe you don't experience discrimination, does not mean it doesn't exist.
