my friend wants to be gothic. I don't want people to be mean to her. why are people so mean to others. do u like gothic people.

My daughter went through a goth phase, too. She is now in college and doing fine. I like most of the goths that I have met. As far as why are people mean to them, they are different and refuse to blend in with the "IN" crowd so they are shunned for being themselves. Which is not right, but never the less that is how humans are. Good luck to her.

I think they are cool, If I was younger I would of done it myself, It looks like a lot of fun. Some people may say something but, it is only because they don't understand, your friend wants to express herself and that is a healthy thing to do. If my kids wanted to do this I would have no problems with it. Goths are usually very imaginative and artsy people and most are intelligent. I still haven't figured out why people are so mean to each other,but, maybe someday some will change.

There is nothing wrong with goths. I think their cool and people should stop being so immature and grow up. If your friend wants to be gothic then let her because she's expressing herself and if that's what she likes then have at it.

There's nothing wrong with us! You people have it wrong. We are independent and we want to be noticed! Some of us hate the world, yes, but some of us just see it for what it is. Its depressing at times! People ahate each other for being another color. Thats dumb. It just means they were in the sun longer and in hotter climates. Life leads to death. Its unavoidable unless your name is Elisha. (Check the bible on this.) Yes, you could live just like everyone else, but you could also express yourself creatively and in a dark manner.

Goths listen to stupid music that proclaims you should hate everybody including yourself. So when you start putting the message out that you hate everybody and yourself by wearing black clothes and lily white makeup, people pick up the message and treat you accordingly. I hope I have made this explanation simple and direct enought for you and your friend to understand.
