Ah, that is NOT what he said.
He was talking about staying in school so they don't get "stuck in Iraq."
Not quite the same.
Mr Kerry served in the military.

John Kerry, did not say the Soldiers are Stupid. See now how propaganda gets started??? Good way to continue on with the false statements. Our American Soldiers are not stupid and Mr. Kerry did not say that. While in Iraq, our American Soldiers have pity, compassion, sympathy for the innocent children, women, and elderly . They are doing all they can to even protect them. War is awful !! Many innocents suffer. The United States is over there for a reason. Sadam, was killing innocent people. When the country called for help, America and other countries went to help. Many of our Dedicated Soldiers died for our Freedom. They continue to die, to help the innocent ones in Iraq.

Haven't you heard yet? His statement was an attempt at a joke about BUSH that he misstated. What he MEANT to say was "If you study hard, etc...you'll do well. If not, you wind up getting (us) stuck in Iraq." He left out the "us" part and inadvertently made his attempt at a crack at Bush sound like a crack at the troops. The Republicans have admitted now that they know Kerry was just trying to make a joke about Bush, and really I think they knew it all along, but just wanted to come out and make it sound as bad as possible as soon as possible.
Kerry was himself a soldier (volunteer) who fought in Vietnam. Any disparaging comment he would make about the soldiers would reflect on him, as well, so why would he do that?

specific, all of Congress reported that, after the President (Bush) recommended anyone that he had data that Hussein did. the explanation for his theory? on the same time as the Iraq government replaced into at conflict with Iran, in case you endure in ideas, the U. S. presented Iraq with those weapons. the U. S. replaced into backing Iraq and the Russians have been offering the Iranians. Iran had captured the U. S. Embassy and held them hostage for over a year...do you endure in ideas that? the U. S. hated Iran for that and hence presented Iraq, in an attempt to over throw the Iranian government. besides after the conflict replaced into over, the U. S. "assumed" that Iraq nevertheless had each and every and all the weapons that the U. S. had given them, now no longer awareness that the Iraq government had the two used them in the process the conflict or have been destroyed by way of way of the Iranians. So, Bush's motives for attacking Iraq, have been improper. did now no longer have the information then and don't have it now.

I think you've bought into the Republican BS. I'm not a big Kerry fan but he was not saying the soldiers are stupid in any sense of the word. What he did say was right and true. If you go to school and don't study and stay in school, you end up in Iraq. A very true statement. Get out of the box. There is no ideological crap of "Lets see, I think I will put my education on hold here and run over and fight for Bush and Cheney and our wonderful Nation and then I'll come back and finish my education." What a crock. I find it truly amazing of the people who can't seem to think for themselves. They let others do it for them and wait and watch TV and see what they are supposed to think next.

There was a story on the news about army recruiters practically misleading and outright lying to those who wanted to join.
Some were told that the war was over and that they wouldn't see any combat in Iraq. One woman lost her son because of this.
http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=investigators&id=4722401
Some people went in with their eyes open about the situation; others did not. If these people were more aware, maybe they would have decided to go to college instead.
It's election time. Of course, the opposition was going to blow something like this out of proportion to take attention of the poor job they and Bush are doing. How best to get support than to enrage the public [some of them anyway] by saying he insulted the troops?

I can't thank Kerry enough for that insult to the men and women defending my nation. Things are looking too good for the democrats in 2006, and republicans really needed a boost. Kerry provided that for us, and I owe him a thank you card and a fruit basket.
I live in Mass, and this Frankenstein has been in power for a large part of my life. This is how he thinks, and indicative of the liberal thought process at large. He really does look at the troops as low brow hicks, and was honest for the first time in a long time. Hillary is laughing her *** off, as Kerry basically threw himself out of contention in the 2008 race.
So no, I think Kerry is arrogant to the core and showed his true colors. He was wrong to say that about our soldiers, and his half baked "botched joke" crap is only believable to the naive and willfully deaf.

No. He was completely wrong. A soldier has taken a very tough test before entering the army and has had a background check, if he fails he is turned away before being sworn in to any branch of service.

He did NOT say soldiers were stupid...for crying out loud!
LISTEN TO ACTUAL QUOTES! He said, according to CNN, " they [college students] could either work hard in school or "get stuck in Iraq."
To ME, this means, "watch out, because if you don't stay in college and get a good job, the military will snap you up and you WILL end up in Iraq! That is where my brother-in-law ended up, after screwing up in high school AND not going to college. Now he's dodging bullets and bombs! (BTW, he joined up well before this Iraq mess).
Bush and the Rethugs are only making a stink about this because they're scared to death Dems will take Congress this fall, due to the Rethugs' total screwing up of the country!
Stop blindly accepting the crap spewed by the right-wing media and research the ACTUAL ISSUE!
