Do you think the world would be more peaceful?

Would a sole race country be more succesful with things like standard of living, inventions and so on?

It's human nature to want to discriminate against people, so even if there was only one race in a nation, there would be some other kind of drama. If anything, the world would be more boring if we were all the same.

No. It's diversity that makes every country in the world special (PS: Africa's a continent)... without it, the world would be boring. History shows us that even when the worlds' people were separated, wars still went on. Even if each countrry was only one race, are you saying they'd stay isolated and never interact with one another? Trade has to go on for the world to function. Besides, countries mainly comprised of only one ethnic group with a few people different racial groups here and there do exist! Some are well off like the country of Japan and some are considered third world like India and some South American countries. Being one ethnicity doesn't make a country better or worse than the rest of the world. Don't forget language too... you could be all white and speak English and your next door neighbor could be the same and speak nothing but German!! The countries of the world were meant to be diverse and that's how it should stay.

Although, I appear to like this idea- it would not work. The only advantage for would be that Africa would still have all it's riches and wealth. Not sure how it would work in terms of sports and singers etc.

Besides this, there would also be something other than race that would be focused on if the world was once race.

God created various race, shapes and sizes for a reason. The problem is men.

I'm a Mexican American so I guess the first thing I should be saying is, hell no. That means that I wouldn't live here. That's not fair. But I see your train of thought. Imperialism did hurt many races by quelling their culture and basically robbing them of their rights, e.i. British India, British Africa, Spanish Latin America.

However, even these negative events had a positive effect in the end. Diversity breeds invention. Without the influence of foreign science, we wouldn't have many of the things we have today, e.i. firecrackers, paper, silk, lipstick, rouge etc. As far as standards of living, I'm not really sure.

we are a one race planet.. the human race.

No it would not be more peacfull. countries would always find disagreements, be it religion, culture, color, morals etc. How many wars have been in the name of religion? Peace isnt about race. If we were all the same color.. people could still be hated because they owned a cat or a dog, or wore red shoes etc, anything different. Race is just a buzz word.

i dont know your connotations of this question, but i think its a bit naive really.

i dont agree at all, because i would not of met my boyfriend and that would be real sad!

unfortunately the human race does let itself down, but that is no excuse to be segregating people!!!!!!

and no a sole race would not be more successful! i dont think YOU have thought about this have you?

where would your telephone come from if someone from 'your race' would not have come up with it? where does your country get its exotic fruit from then?

you need to check yourself.

with an attitude like that, it is self explanatory why people dont wish to just get to know someone despite their cultural background!

you are probably just curious, which is good, but just sit back and read some your replies to this question, and i hope you open up your mind a bit.

take it easy

There are a lot of racists on this site but they've avoiding aswering these questions and have no answers to them. They always talk about the 'way things use to be' but was that before the europeans went around the world. Are things better or worse? I'll let you decide.

I think the world would be a better place when we stop thinking about 'race'. If we all can think people as people, not like 'black people' 'white people' 'Asian people' 'Arabic people' 'mixed race people' and so on, then that will be a big step for the world to become a better place for everyone.

not really. segregation instead of intergration seeks to prevent racial diversity and to cause further social problems. by the way africa is a continent- not a country as you have said. you used america is being white only and africa with blacks only as your examples; therefore, are you suggesting that with all the americans of black origin based in africa and whites in america, does this include white africans from south africa and zimbabwe respectively? this theory of yours isn't just wrong but it just wouldn't work. i cannot imagine a world where there would be blacks in one country or in the continent africa, whites in another or in america, britain, asians- as in muslims, hindus sikhs in india , pakistan, iran etc, chinese- be it originally from america, the uk, australia whatever in china and so forth. how then are we supposed to learn one another's cultures by interacting and meeting and talking to people when they are all in one country or continent? how can whites learn about asians and blacks, if they are all situated and scattered around parts of asia and africa and the whites were in north america, europe etc? that in itself would be virtually impossible, not mention it would fuel further racial tension and cause racial wars between, blacks, white, asians etc. it would be horrific to see.

so therefore, the answer is no, the world would not be a better, nor a happier place if every country/continent had people of one colour. and yes, the world today is just as messed and screwed up- but it would be even more messed and screwed up if we seeked to segregrate people and allocate them in different countries/continents on grounds of ethnicity.

I don't think it would make a difference as far as peace goes. Humans will find a reason to fight over anything. If you take away one reason for fighting (different races) another reason will pop up to take its place.

I don't think such a society (one with only one race) would be very successful, though. Everyone makes a contribution and we are all richer because of it.
