I'm primarily interested in hearing from African Americans on this issue: The "N word" is racist and ugly and great progress had been made towards eliminating it from use in American society. So why has this word be resurrected as a casual greeting between blacks? Isn't the continued existence of this word offensive? Why is it OK for actor Samel Jackson to use it more often than "the"? Why isn't Jessie Jackson all over this issue? (He would be if whites were saying it - in life or on screen.)

why is it that throughout american history black people have created a certain pop culture (music, style, fashion, lingo dance...etc..) in our society and were hated and banned at first for their creativity but when white people finally find out, they exploit it and try to copy and market it?

since the days of elvis (who, by the way stole his singing and dancing styles from poor, old black blues singers who created it and never got paid or respect)...and now elvis is considered the king of rock & roll.

now it's a hip hop world.

back in the 70's when hip hop started, white people were saying "turn off that disco". or that "ni**er" music...just like back in the 50's

now you get little white kids dressing, walking, dancing, and talking like so called "ni**ers.

....some even calling themselves "ni**a" but not knowing one single black person.....lol

twice i heard guys who were from europe say that
they wish they were born in the hood..lol

DiFFerent Races going out!!?
well, i'm south asian,(filipino, thai, cambodian, and singaporian). Right now i'm going out w/ this black guy. i really like him, but i didn't tell my mom cuz she would flip. and also when mi and my boy are out in public, ppl give us these wierd glances, it's sooooo annoying, i said to this white gurl,"wat the **** r u glaring at?". is it abnormal for a south asian gurl to go out w/ a black guy???

i really wanna tell my mom about us, but my mom would flip the minute she sees him. i mean he is fine and everything, but he talks and dresses different from what my mom likes. So she will think he is going to rape me just cuz he is african. But we have a lot in common, not the greates things, but still...

just wondering. some animals that some vegetarians choose not to eat , eat and survive off of some of the plants vegetarians do eat. i'll use this example. the classic cartoon "tom and jerry" the cat chases the mouse that feeds off of the cheese. but what if tom decided he was no longer going to eat mice, now he only ate dairy, specifically cheese which is also what the mouse eats. so now(ignore the fact that jerry is smarter than tom,lol) the mouse dies because the cat eats up all the cheese. do you see my point? i'm not some vegetarian hater, I just don't understand and would like some insight on why some vegetarians choose to only eat plant based foods when plants are just as alive as animals.

He called all the time. Was very friendly. He worked in the usa and was went to his home country to care for his sick mother. He made it all sound true. He told me his daughter was sick and when she was feeling better he would coming back to the states. He asked if his boss could mail me his pay check and if I could cash it for him and western union it. Because it would be faster then having it mailed. And he said in his home country they would not cash american pay checks. He said they owed him three th ousand dollars and four my time I could keep 500.00 for my help The money orders came and I was a bit leary so I went to the bank and they cashed it. So the next day I took the other ones back to cash and send western union. A cop showed up at the bank and I was told to come with him and the president of the bank. They were usa postal money orders and looked real to me. They were fake. I was then taken down to the police station for questioning. I gave the police the guys name.

A lot of people in the U.S. don't even know there are white mexicans, but there are plenty but I think the ones of more european blood are generally wealthier, and the y dont feel as comepelled to emigrate. But I want to know is, in alot of movies I see, usually white Mexicans, and they only really hang out with others. Is there any racial tensions in Mexico, or issues with "color"?

Our fore fathers eventually severed the ties to England. They wanted to be Americans in the purest sense. So, when immegrants come here (not under political asylum), are they coming to be Americans, or do they want to become e.g. "African-Americans", "Spanish-Americans", etc. Or should they be AMERICANS? Why do we even need to debate what language our national dialect shouldl be??
