Being called a Pole, or "Polish" is a put dow. However, if you check the history of Poles, you'll note that some of the greatest Scientist were Polish.....Marie Curie, prior to marriage, was Maria Salomea Sklodowska, and she is the FIRST WOMAN to win the Nobel Prize, and to this day the ONLY scientist to win 2 scietific Nobels: for her discovery of Radium and her work on Radioactivity (Linus Pauling won two nobels, but one was a Peace Prize, not scientific). So, when someone calls you "Polish" to put you down, they are really revealing only how ignorant and foolish they are themself.

when someone referes to you as being polish it is either based on you ancestors that where born in poland, or as a figure of speach. if meant as a figure of speach it is implyting that you are dumb, because in world war I the polish came to battle on horseback with swords because it was all they had. they were considered to be dumb, but if you really look at it, they were actually brave because they did what they had to do with what they had to fight for thier country.
