Sometimes I read newspapers online and I came across this one letter in the Lowell Sun (Massachusetts). This lady was kind of up in arms about protecting children and that SSM would expose kids to the FACT that homosexuals exist and it was like exposing kids to the plague or something. I was reding along, she thinks we should have the the rights and protection but don't call it a marriage for the standard reasons, Bible, Tradition, and so on. I was getting really ticked off. No one seems to remember the early Christian church had a same sex marriage ceremony, that marrige was reserved for the wealthy and everyone else just shacked up. Revisionist history, sheesh! So I get to the end of the letter and I read her name. Then I had to clean Sprite off my monitor.
I digress, Shakespeare said whats in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. So, why is it so important to deny SSM for Biblical reasons, tradition, ect when in reality it happened way back then?

I understand Gay and Lesbian, and I understand bisexual people. But straight people are wierd. Gay and Lesbian like the same sex, and so do bisexual people, to an extent. Only is Straight people do you see people that JUST like the opposite sex. I mean come on, the OPPOSITE sex.

You see animals having gay or bisexual sex all the time in nature, over 1,500 species in fact! But most of them do it Straight. Does that mean Straight people are animals?

Obviousely these straight people arn't doing the same thing i'm doing, so they're clearly doing it wrong.

Or am I just being nosey, opinionated, and picking on people for no other reason then they're different like alot of straight people tend to do?

You help me deside.

When we finally start to see advertising aimed at LGBT individuals outside of media that supports us? What I'm saying is when you can turn on Fox news and see a condom commercial aimed at gay guys, for example. I think it would speak loads on the way peoples feelings have changed in relation to LGBT individuals.

I have found a lot of LGBT people in this forum are vegetarian or vegan. I am a vegetarian too. Do you think we have enough to make our own subculture in the LGBT society? Lol. I can just imagine a club in the middle of Poptastic and XXL called Vegegayrians!

I have been in love with a boy named Jake for over two years now. He lives very far away and I really don't have much of a way of contacting him anymore. I know where he goes to school and his address, but I have no way of getting there as he is so far away and I am only seventeen. Every night, literally, for the past two years or so, I have cried myself to sleep holding his picture. I've tried to get over him, but as love goes, I can't. I think about him often, and many times, it makes me happy. But more often, I cry because I fear I'll never have him, and I probably won't. I'm so in love with this boy and I don't know what to do. A few people have said I'm not really in love, but I know I am in my heart. I just am at a loss. My depression is getting worse and worse each day. Please, no rude or obnoxious answers, only serious ones.

Do you go the next step and consider yourself butch, fem, etc? What would you consider yourself beyond the general answer, if anything? (Add your own subcategory as well)

I admit to being gay, but I do not believe it goes further than that for me.

As a gay man who's been exposed to many religions in his life, but doesn't have one of his own, I thought I'd ask you guys what path you have chosen spiritually. Christian/Non-christian, atheism/don't-care-ism, other spiritual fulfillments such as philanthropy: what made you choose it and why? How does it mesh with your homosexuality? Thanks, guys!

I don't beleive the environment has anything to do with who you are or how you behave. It is all biological.

In the UK, when a certain industry (e.g. hairdressing), product or city (e.g. Brighton) is mainly dominated by LGBT people, they are tagged (usually by the media) as being run by the "Pink Pound". I don't know if I'm actually just being hyper-sensitive, but I find it quite annoying because frankly my money isn't coloured any different to anyone else's, and just because I am gay doesn't mean I like or wear pink! Is such a term as the "Pink Dollar" or "Pink Euro" etc. ever coined (excuse the pun) in your country, and do you get annoyed by it? Or am I just becoming cantankerous in my old age?

Str8 people think all gays should change their behaviors and orientation to the accepted societal norm. But what if the shoe was on the other foot?

Just suppose gay was the "normal and acceptable" standard, and all str8's were discriminated against and criticized...

If str8's think being gay is a choice...

Do they also think - Str8 people could conform to gay desires and behaviors - as easily as they demand that gay people conform to str8 desires and behaviors?

I went to an amusement park on Saturday, and watched a gay couple attack an elderly woman. These two guys were being inappropriate. They were kissing and groping each other in line. If they had been a male and female couple, what they were doing would still have been wrong. Save the heavy petting, and the grinding for the bed room.

When this elderly woman asked them to calm down because there were children in line, they spit on her, threatened to hit her, and called her a B***H. The line was full of adults and no one said anything about what was going on. Would you have said something, and If so what

I have a number of trans friends that I have made since becoming quite active in the queer comunity and I was wondering how other homosexuals and bisexuals feel about transeuxals?
Do you feel a kinship with the T of LGBT ? Do you support them when you can?
Or do you feel greatly uneducated? Don't know any? or don't know how to help out with their rights as well as your own?
Or does it simply not bother you?

I'm just curious of other peoples opinions, transexuality has been a rather big issue in the queer community in my country and new legislation is looking to be put foward soon for them to recieve more regonition. We had a transgender MP which I think did huge things for visability. I was wondering if other gay/queer communities are as concerned as me and mine?

Why is it that I get in trouble at work for giving my girlfriend (now ex) a couple kisses in our work parking lot.. but my best friend who is straight *makesout* with her boyfriend in the SAME parking lot and everyone thinks it's cute?!

THEN! a co-worker puts me on the spot and asks me if I think she's cute, I said... yeah...and then asks me if I want to f*ck her. I didn't respond... but everyone tells me to let it go. This coworker and I are always joking around... but I think that crossed the line. Would you say something to HR or just ignore it?

Now what? Let's say we chose this "lifestyle", do you think that is somehow going to make us stop. I mean last time I checked we ARE allowed to make choices and why are YOU worried about what WE do.

It's not a choice, but even if it was....so what??

Mine would (at the moment anyway) be The Reason by Hoobastank. It may shock some of you to realise that I'm not a perfect person!
I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
Thats why i need you to hear
I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you]
I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
