I don't beleive the environment has anything to do with who you are or how you behave. It is all biological.

No, it has nothing to do with environment -- I think the various studies recently have proved that nicely.

For a more indepth treatment of this, see my answer on the second page of answers to this question: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlPoJsaSpZ0DV_GR2CeqsYf8PhV.?qid=20070806184721AAHqAPc&show=7&cp=2&tp=2&tnu=42#all-answers

I think you will find the discussion there of interest -- you might also note that even the combative individual whom I answered doesn't attempt to refute me, although he did attempt to refute most other answers.

Studies on identical twins separated at birth tend to support the idea that a lot more about us is innate, and not environmental. I subscribe to that notion. There was a whole study on "The Jim twins" which was h*lla interesting. One was raised blue-collar, the other upper class. And almost nothing except their political affiliation was different when they met at the age of 42.

But obviously environment will have some impact. If you're born to wealth, you'll be better educated, and less likely to be a union member, for example.

1. "There are numerous theories about the origins of a person's sexual orientation; most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is most likely the result of a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors."

2. Dr. Francis Collins (of the Human Genome Project):
"An area of particularly strong public interest is the genetic basis of homosexuality. Evidence from twin studies does in fact support the conclusion that heritable factors play a role in male homosexuality. However, the likelihood that the identical twin of a homosexual male will also be gay is about 20% (compared with 2-4 percent of males in the general population), indicating that sexual orientation is genetically influenced but not hardwired by DNA, and that whatever genes are involved represent predispositions, not predeterminations."

Pingu First integrity is long gone while any individual begins a reaction with "ah crap" Your wording within the first paragraph is demanding, sexuality is established earlier than or at beginning? I'll expect "at perception" or for the period of the fetal system. If so, then if I had the genetic code with paraphilia, might I no longer have intercourse with toddlers and/or animals? After all it might deny me of my beginning proper. If there was once a "genetic" homosexual gene it might be burnt up inside the primary new release, as "gays" can not populate. Even if one or 2 did it might be burnt up inside very few minutes. AN argument might be that we're all born with bi sexual genetics, however why is the heterosexual gene or tendency a long way more potent? You fly test is absolutely fallacious. First the flies had been "selected" to be gay. Secondly, did the flies procreate? Not out of your statement because the flies tended toward the men and no longer the women. So the DNA was once no longer handed down. In you dual conception you can't "endorse", it demands to be validated. So a long way you haven't given any forged proof that one is definitely born homosexual. (No data are given) I do not believe any individual who argues for or towards homosexuality, might state a child is born with a "clean slate" (chiefly individuals who might be devout). Again you haven't given any data to disregard for your rebuttal. You made an excessively silly declaration, "the difficulty with faith - you can not argue towards them", however you're attempting right here, why? In your moment rebuttal, folks have converted their "sexuality" by some means, does this imply they select? Or did the genetic characteristic all of a sudden seem or disappear? I might like to look extra "tough" proof that folks are "born" homosexual.

I think that enviroment can affect a child in inumerable ways. Children who grow up in unstable enviroments usually lead unstable adult lives, and vice versa.
However, I don't think Sexual orientation is affected or caused by enviroment. Sexuality is so internalized and conntected to the body that enviroment would have no bearing on orientation.

Think global, act local. It doesn't matter if you're gay or not, just pick up what you;ve dropped, slow down on the highway and recycle stuff.
We're all in this together so let's all act green on the Rainbow.

Mmmmm, I think maybey when you are a small child, the enviroment you are brought up in can have an influence on your mental developement. Although I do believe most of it is biological, nurture can play a role.

No, most definitely not. The environment does play a strong role defining who we are. The best way to change your life is to change the people you associate with.
