I have friends who are gay men, they say it's tougher on them than on women because they get a hard time from str8 men, but I don't really know any gay women.

The way I see it, homophobia stems not from same-sex attraction but from the sexual act of penetration.

Traditionally men, no question. One of the reasons is that there are many more gay men out of the closet than women. Also for a woman, although psychologically difficult, it's easier to enter into a 'straight marriage' than a man.
The stupid thing that I find totally ridiculous is why are straight men turned on by lesbians?? Think about this: there are two lesbians, they like each other. Do you think that they will be attracted to a man? Do you think they will want to have sex with a man? The assumption that a straight man will be invited in is just ridiculous! I'm gay, I have lots and lots of lesbian friends and they just don't look like the ones portrayed in porn flicks. Thats all I'm saying. Straight men also make the TOTALLY WRONG assumption that a [gay] man is interested in them in a sexual way. Please straight guys, don't flatter yourselves. That is right there with assuming that every woman down the street is attracted to you just because you happen to have a penis. That is grossly disgusting. Unfortunately there are a lot of straight men that think that way.

I feel that american society is evolving and the sexual preference issue is changing for the best. Still there are groups of haters out there fueled by ignorance and some by different religious groups that are influencing the way people think. We are all humans, it's about love.

From what I've seen, I think lesbians get the short end of the stick more than gay men (although I am sure there are others who disagree).

I would have a hard time spelling out my reasons for it, but it's an observation I've made over time about the way everyone has seemed to treat several of my closest friends (who are lesbian).

I would have to say gay men, mostly due to the fact that 2 women together are viewed by most as erotic, where 2 men together are viewed by the majority as gross, or at least not an arousing sight

Well gay men do probably get made fun of more then gay women but I would say that it is pretty much the same.

I think it's sad that gay guys have it MUCH worse than lesbians.

I think that women are more open to different aspects of sexuality but most straight men aren't secure enough with theirs to experiment or openly admit that they'd like to.

I admire the gay men that I know because it isn't close to as easy for them as it is for me and my partner.

Good luck guys!

Yeah its true. Sad but true.
Straight guys love "girl action", therefore they wouldnt hassle them.
Straight girls do oppose to the idea, but girls being girls, they are less likely to be "gay bashers".
Lesbians love girls, so they woudnt get harrased there either.
Gay man are gay themselves and would contradict themselves if there were to do anything bad to a lezbian just coz of her orientation.
Therefore more hate towards the gay men. :(
It shouldnt be like this, but hang in there guys, it will all get better.
Cheers

Being a gay dude, i be conscious of many different gay dudes, and not one in all them have HIV or AIDS. possibly all this religious mumbojumbo asserting that risk-free intercourse is evil is ultimately dropping that is grip.

we get mocked or ridiculed and lesbians get hit on by men who think theill score threesom or convert them. i dont think we should make this into a competition on whos suffering most. we should deal with the issue of acceptance instead.
