Police in Norfolk VA are investigating a brutal attack on a 13 year old white student by a group of blacks. Will Al Sharpton march here too?

Blacks are raised in a culture of violence. That is the reason there are more blacks in prison than in grad school. That is the reason the leading cause of death among black men is being murdered by other black men.

If this attack doesn't qualify as a hate crime, then we just ahve to admit that "hate crimes" are merely a way to keep alive the myth that whites actively target blacks. A white person is 10 times more likely to be attacked by a black person, than a black person is to be attacked by a white.

Something must be done about this rap culture of violence.

I had an answer removed yesterday, because I said Black Africans look down on African-Americans as lazy, violent and dysfunctional. I just want to post some support for that position. Since it's not PC for a white man to comment on black culture, I'm including a quote from a black "scholar" and a link if anyone is more interested.

But, almost invariably, whenever the Nigerians talked about African Americans, they would use the term akata. I didn't know what they meant by that and I never asked them. It didn't take me long to figure out that they were referring to American blacks. I did not detect any hostility towards them, or a condescending tone when they talked about these cousins of ours in the diaspora. ... It was not until years later that I found out what the term akata meant after I read an article in the Detroit Free Press by a Nigerian reporter, or someone with a Nigerian (Yoruba) name, who explained what it meant: a brutal wild animal or something like that.

I'm feeling a little discouraged. As many of you may be aware, I've been trying to start a Gay-Straight Alliance at my school.

My school is very large with a decent sized LGBT community. I've taken the correct steps so far in creating the GSA and I have a lot of support from both the faculty and local LGBT organizations that I have contacted.

It's the students. I have a lot of support from them, but their are still a decent amount who are LGBT who are hesitant to be part of such an organization. They feel that it would make them more of a target and do more harm than good.

I disagree, I feel that we are already targets and by doing this we can stand together and support each other. We can also become more educated in dealing with discrimination and homophobia as well as make new friends.

Please share your support or offer ideas.

why isnt it considered a hate crime that six Black dudes beat up a White boy, but then they think that those White dudes who jumped on robert Bailey at that "White" party isnt a hate crime? And also that White guy who pulled a gun on those Black guys too? How come yall always try to ignore that?

And please notice I said SOME of yall.

I'm giving a speech on the Apache and wherever i go online, it says that there's really no difference between the Apache and the Navajo, other than the name. Is it true? Are there any reliable sources online where I can get more info on the Apache(my instructor said that we can't use Wikipedia).
Thanks

It is to die for !! If you havent, you have to - its almost better than sex, it IS better than sex with my exe - in fact a number of guys I know - ok except one, but I would want the cheesecake too --

It is sooooooo delicious, the pumpkin cheesecake that is.

A friend of mine had a "take out gourmet home cooked meals store front" and she made pumpkin cheesecake one year, the magazine I was working for did a review and raved about it --

And she couldnt keep up with the stampede for it, once the word got around, it was like 200,000 people descending on her shop after work, demanding MORE pumpkin cheesecake :-)

You HAVE to try it if you havent already. I hope the one I bought is as good as the one I made last year.

I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again

Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman

You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul

I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand

Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)

I am invincible ...

Can we have good, positive, meaningful relationships with people we disagree with?

Do we have to agree to get along?

Do we have to force our beliefs on one another?

Do we have to label those who believe differently as stupid, ignorant, closed minded, bigoted, etc.?

Can we respect the beliefs and values of others even if they don't respect our own?

If we are open minded only to our own views isn’t that the definition of being closed minded?

This question is for both sides of the issue.
