A deer.
We did once have it but we had to give him away to the zoo.
The reason was, it's a female and very horny.
We had goats a the same time, he chased the female ones to death.
That's bad but there was worst :
My husband was bending try to open the gate where they all kept, the young horny deer jumped on him, tried to **ck him; Well thats too much so we get rid of that deer one.

Many years ago, I too had an ocelot, named Tasha. Then A South American Red squirrel, several snakes over the years, cats, dogs, horses, had 2 opossum that I raised from tiny babies & had for over 7 years, raised a few beef cattle (most were yummy), have cared for and released many types of wild critters, several birds as pets including a cockatoo.
That heaven they were all at different times or I would have had to have had a zoo license.
The brat who made the comment about keeping wild animals doesn't realize that at one time you could have these animals, way back when. I don't feel we should be able to have them now though.

We lived on a farm when the children were young and we had, 3 pet skunks, ( the neighbor boy found them under their barn) lizards, gerbils (that had babies every time we blinked),
turtles, snake, frogs, toads, horses, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs. When I was a child we raised rabbits and had hundreds, also all of the things you find on a farm; we raised chickens, sheep, hogs, cows, goats, horses and cats.
I've always had dogs.....from standard poodles which we bred, pekingese, pointers and I now have two shih-tzus.
* * an unusual situation....we had an english bulldog that had six new puppies and a cat that had five babies. We had a terrible flood ( 1956 ) and lost the puppies and the momma cat so the dog adopted the kitties and they would nurse her just as if she were their momma. Fun to watch! lol

okay, let me think...
the usual stampede of dogs & cats, of course. My all time FAVORITE pet was my english mastiff, Mr Bean. He weighed 235 lbs, was a sweet and gentle giant, and a big softy. I lost him 2 years ago when he was 7 years old.
sugar gliders, ferret(s), hamsters, guinea pigs, nanday and genday conures, finches, cockatiels, snakes, hermit crabs...there's probably more, and I fostered a lot of wild injured and baby animals over the years. I worked at a zoo, and for the humane society, and later a vet. I had to stop working with animals because I was having an increasingly hard time detaching.
now I have a 12 year old cat, Miss Lucy, and I'm fostering a rottweiller.

My folks got a pet monkey once and my father loved it and called it Pasquale. A real hit until he ripped the earring from my mother's ear and damn near tore off her ear in the process! Not funny and the monkey went the way of the Dodo Bird. We got tropical fish after that, that wound up eating each other at $20 a pop! My folks should've seen the writing on the wall and stuck to dogs and cats.

I'm not sure he was really a pet, but when I was a kid this groundhog came out whenever we were in the yard. He esp liked when we shucked corn and would sit on his back legs with an ear in his little paws and just gnaw away. We thought he was the cutest thing in the world, until my sister got to close and he bit her in the lip.

Sounds like a wonderful bunch you had there, must have been terrific knowing Mr. Perkins.

My kids have had a number of odd pets. My favorite was an Iguana named Mari-Mariguana-LOL, my kids must think I am stupid. They are grown up now and very productive adults, I did not encourage the use of MJ but thought it clever to name the iguana Mariguana. We have had two cats, three dogs, a rat, guinea pigs, hamsters-that mated and then more hamsters, a rabbit, a really cool hamster who came back from the dead after we buried it-kid you not! Oh yeah and Mariguana the Iguana. We are now fostering a dog for a Soldier who is in Iraq-his name is Papi, if he ever gets on my nerves, I just give him a pat and thank him that his owner is over fighting for our freedom!

We had a number of pets back when I was little. We had the normal dogs, cats, and chickens, etc.

We lived out in the country, so also had squirrels, raccoons and a skunk. We got them when they were just babies. We would turn them loose once they got big enough to make it on their own. The squirrels would go on their way, although they did stay close by. They would come eat out of our hands. The raccoons all left but one, he would not leave at all. We had him for over 2 years, his name was Bandit. One day he climbed about 30 or so feet up in a tree and lost his grip and fell to his death. Then we had the baby skunk, his name was Stinky. When it was time to let him go, he wouldn't leave either. He would threw that tail up in the air when he would get mad at us but never once ever sprayed us. He died of old age.

Many years ago I had a couple of acres in Colorado. I acquired a few animals that I needed like a hole in the head. Two horses, chickens, two cats, one pig, and one goat. I would get home work work in the afternoons, sit on the back porch and watch the dogs, goat, and pig play together. The cats would lay on the porch with me and once in while run out to the other animals and jump on them and then run back to the porch. It was like "kings X" They were all so funny to watch.

I was thinking back, the strangest was a pet chicken & no his name wasn't "Frank."
The strangest that my kids had was a pet rat, that the cats brought us. His name was "Jerry the rat".
We had "Snuggles", the oppossum, a real sweetheart.
And my youngest found a baby bat right after Katrina and she called it, "Kitty." It was only our pet for about 19 months, when the girls went off to school, they took it to Carlsbad Caverns and released it back into the wild. They waited there for a little bit to see if it would return, but it didn't. So hopefully, it adjusted.
