The crime in most "dangerous" neighboorhoods are almost always overhyped..They arent nearly as bad as white people percieve them..Most of the people in these neighborhoods are honest hardworking people who care about the same things everyone else does..They just unfortunatly have a higher percentage of thugs, but even then the thugs make up a very small minority and tend to kill each other and not strangers.

People are people. I just answered a question asked about "Hate Crimes" and why whites resent it being called "Hate Crime" when a group of whites beat up on a black but not the other way around. Now I see the flip side of the question. People are people, and regardless of that we need to realize that we re all part of the Human race. As for the thing about neighborhoods. There are some neighborhoods that I would not go into that are mostly black and some that are mostly white. For you see there are bad neighborhoods since it seems that bad people tend to congregate in the same areas.
I hope this helps you

I'd be more afraid walking in a white neighborhood. It's nothing for whites to grab you, kill you and then stuff your body in the freezer for about 5 years. I feel safer in a black neighborhood.

You should be careful anywhere you go, after dark...and you are being warned. I would not ever go back there, because that is just what they would say to you...: "I told you not to go there.."...please, take heed and go somewhere else

you should be afraid of walking through any oppressed area whether there are mostly white or black or other. Oppression breeds depression and crime. So be careful of all areas that are less then desirable. You shouldnt be afraid of blacks at all just poor areas and those that live in them.

Don't be afraid of black people.

Don't be afraid of white people.

Just carry a gun when your in the hood and sterotypes will be met with a bullet.

Its not the black people that you should be afraid of its the crime that happens in the neighborhoods. Especially to an unsuspecting person who doesn't live there.

I love the people who said 'don't be afraid of blacks, be afraid of gangs, crime, violence, etc.'

Reminds me of Marion Barry commenting on crime in D.C.,
he said 'crime in this city is not so bad, if you don't count the murders'.

Brilliant reasoning!!!

I think it's because African Americans have been stereotyped by white people and other races as being bad, troublemakers, killers and are of the highest crime rate, which is not true because every race as bad people and I think it's very unfair that African Americans are singled out. They are very family oriented, religious, giving people and I'm very happy to have them as friends.
