I'm in Southern California and milk is getting close to $5.00 a gallon. Bread is anywhere from $3.00 a loaf to $5.00. Butter is too expensive to think about. I wait until margarine is on sale. That's the way we shop here-wait for a sale-clip coupons and dont eat out much. It sounds like we're poor-but we're all pretty middle class. I'm getting ready to move to Georgia. I hope the food is cheaper there.

Buffalo, NY Our prices are cheap comparatively. I shop at Aldi's. I pay $149 for bread, $229 for skim milk, I don't know the rest but Ibuprophen is 99 Cents for 100. Things are pretty good there.

I suspect northern California has very high prices.
Bread can range anywhere from 1.69 or higher. I buy Wonder Bread which is cheaper.
Milk is around 2.99 a gallon or higher.
(I use Soy milk which is about 2.88 for 8th Continent.)
However, the state tax makes the groceries cost a lot more.
This is in Arkansas.

Milk has gone through the ceiling, 2 gal for about 6.80 here. Eggs are ridiculous, bread runs up to 3.+ per loaf. IT is getting so that eating out is much cheaper than eating in.

Mississippi,
Bread $1.79 - $3.00
Milk (gallon jug) $4.17 or around that.
I have never heard of $6 for milk. Is that just one gallon? It would be cheaper to buy a cow. ha
chocolate-- cost now just about what it is worth. Priceless.
