Was it to respond to racism with violence?

Or was it the application of passive resistance?

Anyone know their history?

This is something I've wondered about for a long time. It's often seemed to me that people of a particular ethnic group had a particular scent to them; and while sometimes I can understand where it comes from (say, exotic spices from the cuisine of their homeland, or maybe chemicals used to straighten curly hair), but with some groups it defies easy explanation. I find myself wondering if the level of skin pigment or whatever could have a noticeable effect on the smell of their skin...

Am I the only one who's experienced this? And can any non-Caucasians out there tell me -- do white people also have a particular scent to them?

Serious answers only, please -- let's not turn this into an opportunity to insult or bash people of a particular race.

Or she we teach them "Safer sex, buy their own choice"? And are the ready to make such a choice on the own? I like to know peoples thoughts on what they truly think if congress didn't fund the public schools on the subject on "stay pure until marriage" for our teens?

Now I understand how Bush got re-elected.

So far, a majority of white people that have posted comments opposing support for the Jena 6 seem to be under the impression that the white kid who was attacked was attacked asa direct result of a noose being hunge on a tree. And that he was brutally beaten. And that Black people are protesting because they think the Black kids are innocent.

Not sure how so many people all came up with these misconceptions, but I suspect those are the same people that think Saddam was responsible for the attack on 9/11. (even though a Bin Laden video comes out every 3 months)

Why do so many NOT ALL but many of you date women of other races but have a problem when blk women do it? Why do SOME of you feel that it’s okay to be disrespectful & call THAT woman all kinds of names for finding love. Why do SOME of you want to pick a fight w/ the non-blk man who is w/ that white woman? Do you really think that behavior is going make that blk woman want to date a blk man? If yes, why? Why do SOME of you get upset that blk women are doing the very thing that you are doing (dating outside of her race)? Why do SOME of you feel that you own blk women? Why do SOME you call blk women ghetto and say that white women are not, when only 12% of you graduate high school and then go on to college, most of you end up in jail, and many of you do not take full responsibility or even partial responsibility for the children you create w/ women of any race? Why do SOME of you put down blk women period and then call upon blk women to help you out when you get into trouble?

I'd just like to know how you guys think.

I think mine was (and don't laugh) "All I ever needed to know I learned in Kindergarten" by Robert Fulghum.

It's really amazing how we overlook life's simplicities and then can look back later and see how it forms the foundation for a fullfilling life.

Can anyone share their experiences or direct me to a resource where I can learn more about this? It seems like such an intersting, wonderful thing to do.

I just heard that it is common in Japanese culture to give a person an item you own if they compliment it. I'm not talking about "Oh, nice Mercedes. Can I have it?" kind of greediness.

I'm curious because I often give away household items, small things, etc. to people who compliment them, because it makes me happy to make them happy. Sometimes I feel akward about doing it though, like maybe it was just an idle compliment and now they are stuck with this -thing-.

Thank you!

Does anyone else disagree with what is going on? This is ridiculous. I'd like to start a website to NOT support the Jena 6. and would like to know if anyone is interested in supporting THAT. This is unjust, and this is stupid. Theyre throwing out the race card... when in reality it is 6 guys beating the crap out of one guy. if it was 6 on 6 then whatever.

and yes i do realize the white people hung nooses on the trees.. they could have beat up the black people who went near their tree.. but they didnt.. they showed a sign peacefully.

so please wear white today on 9 20. in your show of support for the poor guy who got the crap beaten out of him. :)

I see question after question about some ignorant person stating that they spoke to 1 black person. Now all black people feel this way. Seriously, that is just ignorant and stupid. I know for a lot of people you are going to have to re-wire your thinking. In case you didn't know before, black people do not all think and like the same things. Fck Jesse Jackson, Fck Al Sharpton, and Fck OJ.
That's how I feel about it.

One week ago my son was involved in a fight. Four black kids backed him into a corner in the bathroom and one landed three punches to his face. Three kids blocked the door so he couldn't get out. My son, who has had an IMMACULATE behavioral record, defended himself and headlocked one boy and proceeded to punch him back.

My son and the one who punched him were suspended. The black boy has already been suspended twice this year for fighting.

I have never been a prejudice person and have never taught my children color. EVERYONE is equal in my eyes.

Furthermore, the vice-principle (black) said there were 3 witnesses - but they were the friends of the boy who jumped my child and they were all black.

So, do you think Al Sharpton will come to my town and bring attention to the fact that my non-prejudice white son was jumped in a bathroom by 4 black boys????

If the circumstances were reversed and 6 white kids beat up one black kid, how would the black comunity treat it? Would they now be having marches to support conviction of the white kids?

i identify myself as bisexual but i am having second thoughts now; i think i might be gay and i've been thinking this for two weeks now. the only possiblity is that i am 80% gay and 20% straight and i never discovered my sexuality earlier on. i feel as though now that i would rather sleep with a woman than a man and that i couldn't sleep with a man again.

what do you think?

6 black kids ganged up on a white kid and assaulted him, beating him badly. They are all being brought up on charges ranging all the way to attempted murder.
This is in contrast to a bunch of white kids hanging nooses in a tree where a black kid had been sitting.
Now, while I will agree that what these white kids did was tasteless, rude, mean and derogatory...they did not BEAT someone bloody. No physical assault took place. They did not put anyone in the hospital.

Now blacks are complaining about unfair treatment for the black kids of Jena 6.

Am I the ONLY person who does not see the MAJOR difference between what these two groups of kids did? One group was just plain, downright rude and mean. The other committed assault and battery. Last time I checked, being rude and offensive was not against the law. Assault and battery is.

I Learned In Kindergarten....did you ever read the book by Robert Fulgham? Here are the basics - do you agree?

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life.

My girlfriend who is disabled thinks I should be able to collect money from the goverment because I am dyslexic. She tells me it is a disability and I can collect money for it. She thinks I should because I am having trouble finding work because of my dyslexia.

I also am hard of hearing and may become deaf one day. She says I could collect disability for that too, that I don't have to be deaf that hard of hearing would suffice. She also told me I might be able to get a free videophone because I am hard of hearing, they normally cost $200.
