Not really, I've never been gay, but I don't think I could be changed to gay. Perhaps the real question is can someone get rid of the guilt that society has brough upon homosexuality and feel that there isn't anything he needs to change. Maybe your schema of homosexuality needs to change. You don't have to dress different, talk different, really there's no change that has to be made except what happens between the sheets.

As far as I know, you can't change your sexuality (most of the people answering will tell you the same thing). Probably you may have being acting "straight" consciously or unconsciously in order to blend in or be accepted (nowadays it happens very frequently), but the fact of the matter is that you learn how to deal with this situation. Personally, I will deal with it in my own terms first before talking to my family and/or friends, you don't know how they going to react and if you are not focused, that would not be pretty but once that you are ready, you will have the disposition to tell who ever you want without worrying about it.

Yes, I realized at 17 that I was gay, I tried denying it ,and got married and live a straight life for 20 some years, and was never truly happy with my life. When my wife left me for another man, I decided to stop living the lie and come out to myself. Now I am truly in love with my partner, and for the first time, very happy with my life.

Once someone comes to that realization, it cannot be denied. You can live a celibate life, or in denial by pretending not to be... but nothing will change the way you are.... just how you act on it. Better to accept who you are and live the best possible life you can than try to change what cannot be changed.

that would be a great question for my best friend. her folks where married for 16 years before her father came out of the closet. gay is genitic (by some reports, not all agree), not choice. you can ignore or supress those desires, but it doesn't go away. my husband, girl-friend, and 3 kids will agree with me on this!

Why would you want to? Because other people disapprove of who you are? The closest a person can come to "change" is either a life of celibacy, or a life of denial and repression... life's too short for either, and will only lead to depression and regret- and whatever your religious beliefs, I doubt that your God's plan for you is a life of loneliness and self-hatred.

Can a leopard change it's spots? you are, what you are, and you can put on a facade of being straight. Any body can put on an act for awhile, but the truth comes out in the wash.

Actually, scientists think your sexual orientation is dependant on both nature (genetics) and nurture (the way you grow up, your thoughts, your mind, opinions, outside of body influences), so you may be able to change it, but I don't believe you will ever not be aroused by the same sex ever again.

Mental health professionals generally say no, Fundamentalist and Evangelical Christians tend to say you can. I personally believe that your orientation remains , no matter what you try to do.If you have have doubts about your sexuality, make sure you don't hurt other people while you are dealing with it.Best of luck.

You cannot change your basic sexuality it is born in you but you can change your behaviour. Lots of homosexual people marry and have children. It all depends on how strong the compulsion is in you to have sexual relations with the same sex
