Yes, that is a wonderful book. I can only add that after "Flush" they include "and put the seat back down".

I can only imagine the UK version would be along the lines of :
Join any line no matter that you don't know what is at the end
If somebody bumps into you - always say 'sorry'!
Never let a stranger get away without discussing the weather
Whatever is wrong with the country it is the fault of the Unions
Never answer back to anyone older, richer or wearing a uniform
If someone says 'GRASS' and it ryhmes with '***' they are working class and should be patronised!
Strive to visit the lavatory every morning at the same time in order to prevent bad breath!
Two nations divided by more than just spelling eh?!!!!

Very good. I have no idea who wrote this but I made a copy of it years ago.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, analyze a problem cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and to die gallantly!! Specialization is for insects. Pretty good stuff--wish I could push the credit where it belongs.

So true! Sometimes it's hard to live a balanced life, when you've been walking on a tightrope and keep falling off. Great question.
I learnt these things from my parents. But here is the catch, at what age did we put ALL these things into practise?
Makes me remember the song. "Don't Step on My Too-too" . And I have actually no idea why that came to mind.

Great advice for any age I would think. But definitely very important to teach a child at a young age. I didnt have kindergarten and have never seen the book so thank you for sharing this.

I totally agree! Fulgham is my all time favorite. I much prefer his philosophy's to anyone else's.
Remember, there is a difference between a lump in your oatmeal, a lump in your throat and a lump in the breast. Learn to tell the difference!!!

Yes, read it long ago...very cute, very fast read, my version had cartoon drawings in it. And basically, I cannot disagree with the premise. It always comes back to the golden rule, doesn't it?
