i have one that has a picture of a basset hound (what else?)
it says in big bold letters
WIPE YOUR PAWS

I've had three in the last ten years. They all said Welcome. However, I live in an area where we really get some strong wind gusts and my mats have all blown away. I quit buying them. Now I keep a washable rug inside the front door to wipe feet on.

Oliver my long haired cat sleeps in front of the door. He does not like to be awoken, so you can't open the door.He is a watch cat. He also walks with my pug when he goes out. It looks like Otis and Milo. Oliver and Pugly love to sleep together, share food. Oliver brings treats to share with the family, a snake, several squirrels, many birds (had to stop feeding the birds, I started the food chain thing) He also "rescued" a shower curtain that he found somewhere and several toys. It is so nice to have a man aound the house!

I don't think I ever got one of those..but my friend in high school 's daddy was an undertaker...and a joker. He had the Go Away mat in front of his house door. (Maybe he should have put one at the funeral home entrance too. !!) As I said, he was a big "joker"...guess he had to be to even things out.

Mine doesn't say anything. It's just a dark red mat that matches other things on my patio.

Perhaps having all three or more would be a good idea, then you can just change them, depending on hwat kind of a day you think you are going to have.
Or swap them around, during the day.
Ours says nothing. I'd just like one that says "Wipe your Feet".

well, it is not a welcome mat, but it brought to mind a sign i saw in a yard. dont worry about the dog , watch out for the 12 gauge. cute
