If the circumstances were reversed and 6 white kids beat up one black kid, how would the black comunity treat it? Would they now be having marches to support conviction of the white kids?

Probably. No matter how you look at it, it is wrong. Violence should not be applauded no matter what your race is. For them to support these kids is insane.

This is just another example of how the African American community sticks together better than the Caucasian community. If all cultures took a page out of their book, the world would be a different place. I mean, you've got Al Sharpton organizing rallies for these criminals. Where's Billy Grahm organizing rallies for the teen that had the crap beat out of him. Now I agree that the teens that hung the nooses should have been reprimanded in some sort of way, but there is NO law stating that they can't hang nooses in trees. Its more freedom of expression...however, they knew it would cause issues. There is, however, a law that prevents some one from attempting murder. Look back through history. African Americans have ALWAYS stood up for the rights of their people, whether they were right or wrong. And unity goes a long way, no matter what the issue. I am certainly not saying its right what the "Jena 6" did, because I personally think they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But I would feel the same exact way if 6 white guys beat the crap out of a black guy for desecrating the confederate flag or some such. I am just saying that when it comes to unity, African Americans are a force to be reckoned with.

Is there any thought that if the black community came come together in such force........why should we complain, if say in West Virginia 5 black men held a woman against her will and tortured her and the white community does NOTHING! I think the Jenna 6 have been punished on and beyond what white children would have been. I think racism on BOTH sides is sickening. If white people are being discriminated against lets unite and insist on justice too, we have rights and pride also! Most of the people living now had nothing to do with the way blacks were discriminated against many years ago, and I'm sure they feel that was a travesty that never should have happened. But, reverse discrimination is not something I care to pay for because of what some idiots practiced in the past. Can't we all get along?

Three blacks would not have hung nooses from a tree to threaten the whites, which is what started the whole thing after some black kids sat at the "White tree"... The symbolism of a noose is enough to send any black person into defensive mode and when the students who hung them were basically slapped on the hand ..come on.. what would you do? I don't agree with "jumping" anyone it is just a really tough situation and in 2007 I wish things could be different.

Unfortunately, you are right. If the circumstances were reversed they would be calling for those kids to hanged. It is the double standard that they live by and this is why racism still exists. If you remember the incident with the Lacross team from Duke University. They were calling for those Lacross members to burn in hell with out even knowing the facts of the case. As it turned out the woman was lying and dragging those students good names through the mud. Those student will never recover. They will always carry that stigma with them. Duke cancelled the season expelled those students without even waiting for the outcome of the trial. It just goes to show that racism is still prevalant and always will be as long as there is that double standard. May racism die a horrible death and soon. Take care and peace be with you.

Pretty much the same except they'd rally for the conviction instead of against it.

The thing is, people should be asking what should happen in any situation where 6 kids beat up one kid regardless of color. I think the reason people are really pissed is because there was blatant racism in the actions of the kid or kids who hung the noose or whatever the hell they did. That was racist and rude and they knew it would get a reaction and a negative one.

It's like me going up to a 6'6 muscular guy at a bar and calling him a name just because he was in my seat. I spit in his face and disrespect the guy and in return, he beats the living sh!t out of me.

If I hadn't provoked the situation and he just started beating my a$$ for no reason, then he's fully to blame. However, if I knowingly provoked the attack, it's my fault as well because I could've kept my mouth shut and let by gones be by gones.

In this case, the kid provoked it. He is to blame as well. If they get convicted, so should he. He started it. And like my mom always said, don't start something you're not up to finishing.

i am not trying to prove smth but looking @ facts

when www.yahoo.com posted the news on Jena 6 the usual 4-5/5 were gone and the stars were onli 2.5

i think americans white better treat the americans black better

as both are living together...

because it doesnt involve them or deframing the fellow person in the wrong doesnt means the news is bad too

americans oso declared that the two of the americans should live together wif no hatred

if i used the word black in this... sorri
i forgot whether the americans black are from africa... or other country... cause i think i heard b4 inm yhistory class that americans black are from a country and moved over or native americans =x

The 6 white kids would already be in prison. They would be guilty until proven innocent. Just like the Duke Rape case. Those guys did nothing wrong except to hire that nasty stripper. Now their lives are ruined. Oh, and did you read where the multi-millionaire, "has been" singer David Bowie is giving $10,000 to the NAACP legal defense fund for those 6 kids? Sorry Mr. Bowie....$10,000 ain't crap. That won't even buy Al and Jesse's lunch.

Excellent point! And if the white community held a march to get the white boys off (if the situation were reversed) everyone in it would be considered racist. I am so sick of this reverse discrimination. Enough is Enough!

If the situation was reversed I would still feel that the sentence was unjust. To be honest would there be as many black people marching for the white children probably not but I'm sure that people would still get together and fight the justice system. Fair is Fair and the punishment should fit the crime. In this case it clearly doesn't.

And Please spare me this BS on how blacks should stop seeing the justice system as corrupt. The DA in this case is clearly on a power trip. Please read up on the case and the police brutality going on in Jena before posting.

Yes, Jesse and Al would still be going. Nice Catch 22. The whole situation is riduculous and these "protestors" are just bored. That's my take. The justice system hasn't even been given a chance to take care of the situation appropriately. At least wait until the outcome before your freakin protesting.
