It's just five letters more...but a WORLD of difference. Christ was born and died for our sins. The very least people can do is honor His name. Why are people who are not believers celebrating His birth?

We are on this earth for one lifetime, each of us a single individual amongst billions.

Do you think that you can make a difference to serious issues such as climate change, poverty and racism?

Do you think that each individual has a responsibility to educate themselves in order to be able to do all they can to make a difference?

Or do you think that it makes no difference whether we try or not?

I would like to meet, amongst many others, the man born blind. I would not ask him, " What did he do to you?' lol

He always impressed me. He seemed so eloquent in dealing with the Pharisees.

example:
John 9
30 The man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. 31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly man who does his will.
32 Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."

This guy was not an ignorant man. He just happened to be blind. Yet with his knowledge, he stumped the Pharisees. I think that it is proof that God's Spirit was working with him before he actually believed in Jesus Christ, which he did later in the chapter.

A friend of mine sent me an email a couple of days ago about his search for a Christmas card that had something to do with Christ. Wal-Mart didn't have any. He also mentioned about the music at Safeway, all Frosty the Snowman types, no Joy to the World types. Personally, I can't think of a Christmas movie that has anything to do with Christ. Most don't even mention His name or sing a Christmas carol.

Any suggestions for changing this next year?

My husband and I will be having a child soon and already we're having some religious issues involving my mother.

My mother is Catholic, while my husband and I are not. She has made it very clear that she wants our child to be raised Catholic. My husband and I are opposed to this and have told her so. Although she says she will (grudgingly) respect our wishes, we are both concerned that she will lull us into a false sense of security and have our child baptized behind our backs. As much as I adore my mother, I have years of first-hand experience with just how sneaky and manipulative she can be. I really can see her attempting something like this.

Would a Catholic priest allow a grandparent to have a child baptized without parental knowledge and/or consent? And if so, would it be a valid baptism?

"In any foreseeable future there are going to be thousands and thousands of people who detest and abominate Negroes, communists, Russians, Chinese, Jews, Catholics, beatniks, homosexuals, and 'dope-fiends.' The hatreds are not going to be healed, but only inflamed, by insulting those who feel them, and the abusive labels with which we plaster them--squares, fascists, rightists, know-nothings--may well become the proud badges and symbols around which they will rally and consolidate themelves."

Don't get hooked on which examples he uses: this was 1966.

I'm going to be doing quite a bit of seasonal festive baking over the next few days and wondered what people thought of my baking extra cakes and cookies to take to neighbours.
I live in a large townhouse split into four apartments. My neighbours and I know each other in that we say a cheery 'Hello, how are you' if we meet in the hallway or front garden but we aren't close.

If I took cake/tart/cookies I'd made to each of them, just as a festive gesture, would it seem weird do you think? Would they want to eat them, or be fearful to unless I'd laced them with arsenic or was a really bad cook? Would it seem a bit odd to be taking something around in a package, when it would seem far more sociable to to invite them round for mulled wine and cake instead? (Though that would also be a bit odd, as we aren't particularly friendly and would have little to discuss)

Should I just quit with the etiquette worries get taking the damn'd baked goods around? Thanks.

Yesterday i was working on a ladder when i was attacked by a swarm of bees. I managed to get off the ladder and into my car with only a sting on my wrist and a sting on my throat.
Last time i was stung i had a reaction and almost died , this time no reaction .
Did God try to kill me or did he save me ?
Was it just bad luck followed by good luck ?

I see black people all the time wearing tee shirts that say "Black Pride" , "Black Power" and "Black by Popular Demand" I really don't see anything wrong with that nor do I see anything wrong with a web site that says "White Pride World Wide" I think it is kind of catchy.

What I see as wrong as sick is people who are ashamed of their race be they black white brown yellow or red. Each race has unique and wonderful attributes and members of each race should take pride in being part of that race. The white race is no different then the other races in it right to have pride in itself.

You know right now the world has a wonder rainbow of races peoples and cultures. Let's keep it that way.
