I see black people all the time wearing tee shirts that say "Black Pride" , "Black Power" and "Black by Popular Demand" I really don't see anything wrong with that nor do I see anything wrong with a web site that says "White Pride World Wide" I think it is kind of catchy.

What I see as wrong as sick is people who are ashamed of their race be they black white brown yellow or red. Each race has unique and wonderful attributes and members of each race should take pride in being part of that race. The white race is no different then the other races in it right to have pride in itself.

You know right now the world has a wonder rainbow of races peoples and cultures. Let's keep it that way.

I'm very proud of my white race and I love my physical characteristics. But, my pride doesn't take away from the value of other races or demean other races. There is beauty and value in every race. Merry Christmas. 2D

I don't think that race (or nationality) is something that you should wear like a medal - you did not do anything great or valuable to deserve it. There are good and clever people in every race and nationality - and there are idiots, bullies, criminals and such also in every race and nationality. So, there isn't much to back up the idea that some race or nationality is better than the other. Everything is in the person, and it does not matter what's the color of her skin or where she was born, in what manner does she make the sign of the cross across her chest or does she pray bowing, the Muslim way, or does she worship any other way. I survived the civil war here on Balkan. Take it from me - there are only good people and bad people. That's the only possible division.

There is no problem with pride, but many of these people that support their own race often dislike other races, this may be the reason for the kind of "Black Power" shirts they wear, maybe not, maybe it is a sign of equality, but over supporting your own race and no other gets more and more into racism, people only talk to their own race, only like their own race, it isn't pride, it is racism. I personally see nothing wrong with pride, racism is something people make up because they are scared of something different. I personally do not support my race as people of all races are both smart, mostly stupid, I will support the human race, not the black or white races of human. I support humans as a whole race, as a equal and totally same race, looks do not matter, who would be racist if we were all blind

The whole 'pride in you race' thing is a sham. Would you thank all the white people in Europe, U.S.A, Australia or anywhere in the world for starting your own business and then being able to buy yourself things like a house or a car. How did every white person on Earth help you do that? It's ridiculous to give props to millions of people who had no part in it and it is ridiculous of millions of people to claim that as their own pride and accomplishment...

Individual pride for your accomplishments is real and other people who do the same are worth associating yourself with, no matter what color they are.

As I said in response to similar questions:

In my opinion, it's absolutely unnecessary to exhibit pride in "race", ethnicity, or whatever other group to/with which you belong/identify. I understand the logic- The logic being that it creates the unity which is needed in order to collectively fight unfairness, mistreatment, and injustice. But group pride isn't needed to create unity. And, to me, it's just down right silly. I truly don't mean any disrespect by saying that. I'm merely giving my honest opinion.

In my humble opinion, group pride is as absurd as group shame. What other people say and do isn't a reflection on you, me, or anyone else. I'll illustrate: Let's say that a few Mexicans rob a jewelry store. Did they rob the jewelry store because they're Mexican? NO! Are their actions an indication of what other Mexicans might do? NO! So, is there any reason for any other Mexicans to feel guilt or shame over what the robbers have done? ABSOLUTELY NOT! And is there any reason for this incident to cause Mexicans to feel ashamed of being Mexicans or to feel ashamed of Mexicans as a whole? HELL NO!

Now flip the script: Let's say that a Mexican scientist discovers a cure for cancer. Wonderful, eh? DEFINITELY! But did the scientist make this discovery because he/she is Mexican? NO! Is his/her actions an indication of what other Mexicans might do? Again, NO! So, is there any reason for any other Mexicans to feel pride as a result of the scientist's accomplishment? With the exception of family, friends, and/or colleagues, NO! And is there any reason for this discovery to cause Mexicans to feel proud of being Mexicans or to feel proud of Mexicans as a whole? WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD THEY?

(There's no particular reason why I used Mexicans in the above examples. They are just that- examples- and not intended to disrespect or offend.)

Individuals' actions, whether "good" or "bad", belong only to the individuals responsible for the actions.

To be proud of yourself as a person is one thing but how can you be proud of your race as a whole, each racial group is just like any other with a mixture of the good, bad and average with much to be proud of and much to be rejected. To display symbols of racial pride usually denotes some kind of "attitude" towards others and doesn't help in building bridges between races.

What exactly are you proud about ?

Taking pride in your own race, suggests that you feel it is somehow better than other races... I'm sure you can see where that is a problem.

Thats nice...but it's more about culture than race...cause there really is no defined race...

People usually admire those who overcome...regardless of culture/background...

I think that is more on an individual level...

Theres nothing wrong with learning about your origins...But you can't truly be proud of something you didn't actually DO...and you can't take credit for something your 1000th cousin who's great grandparents to the 5th power came from the same country as yours did..::gasps::..(if that makes any sense)

Nothing wrong with being proud of ones race, as long as one does not preach that ones race is superior to others.

There is not a wrong with being proud of your race, wither you were born black, white, red or yellow. What to be proud of is that you are unique, in being of different color. I love to see red birds, blue birds, and doves. Be proud of one that is proud of his,her race.
