A friend of mine sent me an email a couple of days ago about his search for a Christmas card that had something to do with Christ. Wal-Mart didn't have any. He also mentioned about the music at Safeway, all Frosty the Snowman types, no Joy to the World types. Personally, I can't think of a Christmas movie that has anything to do with Christ. Most don't even mention His name or sing a Christmas carol.

Any suggestions for changing this next year?

Thanks all. Very good answers. The bottom line seems to be: we need to get involved and make our voices heard.

I think we shoul organize groups that MAKE these types of things. I will send a letter to hall mark cards and ask why THEY do not make these things. My suggestion is that you do the same.

I am so glad that you say this. As for the comment posted about imposing our views on others, well, that's just stupid. It makes me furious that we have to accept other nationalities and their beleifs, we have to accept the way they dress and their holidays and everything that goes along with it. And I do so with an open heart. I really don't mind. I am constantly telling people that complain to stop. But then, at Christmas, I'm not allowed to say Merry Christmas? I might insult the people who don't beleive? I want to scream! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!

Okay, so what I do is, everytime someone says to me, Happy Holidays, I answer Merry Christmas! If they say that they don't beleive in Christmas, then I say, to you it's a holiday BECAUSE of Christmas! To me, it's part of my heritage, and who I am.

I told the cashier, if you don't say Merry Christmas, I will not check this two card of stuff out!

After I had loaded it all on the belt!

She did with a smile.

My suggestion is that you admit to yourself that the only thing christian about Christmas is the name. Everything else, including celebrating the birth of a "savior, born of a virgin, etc (Mithra)" is pagan.

There is no battle to fight. Watch Zeitgeist and you'll know why.

Why do you want to impose this on people that don't celebrate Xmas?
