That's not all, they just passed a resolution officially endorsing Christians, Christianity & Christmas.

Question for Iron Handed Faith -

In regards to your comment "Because the men who founded this country considered it a "Christian nation"...read the constitution...
"

Please tell me the text of the constitution that establishes the nation as a "Christian Nation".

The first amendment says congress shall pass no law respecting the establishment of religion

and the constitution also says there shall be no religious test for public office.

So please post the portion that reverses the first amendment and establishes America as a Christian Nation.

Is it an amendment to the constitution ?

Or is it in the text of the constitution.

Please be very specific with your answer.

Thanks.

It is part of our culture. Most of the traditions are pagan anyway and were adapted to fit into the Christian holiday. Santa came about in the Victorian era and was used as an excuse for spoiling the children one day out of the year. The Christmas tree came from Germany and was the Adapted by the British after Prince Albert married Queen Victoria and had one put up in Buckingham Palace. American started using the Christmas tree because they had not generally celebrated Christmas before this because it was seen as a Pagan holiday by the church but they claimed the tree was a tie to the old world and it was eventually excepted. Christmas has become part of our culture and is ingrained into us and our kids through tradition. For years it was even banned in England and was also banned in the US by the Puritans. It wasn't until the Victorian Era that it became what we know know it as. Our government is trying to preserve what little culture our country has. We are a baby compared to the rest of the world and really don't have anything that can be said is really American. With Santa and some of our other Christmas traditions we have made it our own here. Leave Christmas alone.

The first amendment was set because they didn't want the governement to establish a state religion like what King Henry VIII did with the Anglican Church. It was not meant to repress any certain religion or say Government officials cannot endorse or support their own views or faiths. Moses and the Ten Commandments are above the doors to the Supreme Court.

I think the US government has strong Wiccan ties and that is why it supports pagan holidays like Christmas.
