You see signs that say happy holidays and santa clause's everywhere... but where is the meaning of Christmas in all of it?

Given my soft spot for seniors, I really enjoy reading and answering some of the questions on here.. I have so many stories of seniors who have touched my heart, and this is well known amongst all who know me. Question to seniors.. I read that during the Roman persecution of Christians that it was the duty of every Christian to be as Christlike as they could. And part of that was to experience his passion (suffering). Therefore early Christians wanted to be arrested and charged so they could admit that it was true and refuse to recant, thus guarenteeing a trip to the arena for a public execution after excrutiating torture. This was expected of all Christians. If that's true, they would have had a difficult time converting me, to say the least.

I want to get her clothes, but I'm afraid that I'll get her a size too small or a size too big.

I want to get her a Jonas Brothers T shirt (she loves them), but they only sell the t shirts online.

So what else can I get her? I'm not really close friends with her, I've only known her for a month or two. I'm her secret Santa, so I can't ask her friends about it, because it'd be too obvious if I did. Please help.

I read the book 'Night' by Elie Weisel (incredibly good read!!) not long ago and I'm just wondering: How can anybody possibly believe in God after knowing about all the horrible things that happened in the Holocaust? What kind of a god would let that happen? What could justify something so disgusting?

I've never been religious, but I've always believed in God, had a little faith, but now, after reading 'Night' I find it impossible to believe in any God, let alone one worthy of our respect..

I'm asking this because, i cannot say that it would necessarily, as per it pertains to me.

I choose to believe that family members of mine that have passed on, have gone to heaven, when the truth is for some of them, i know they believed in God, but the fine details are fuzzy, and i do not know where their hearts were at the time of thier passing. I know that the bible says the requirement is that you believe on the Lord Jesus; so those without Christ are lost.

But, i believe that God is gracious, and i do think that for some, because he knows their hearts, he may reveal himself to them in the moments before they pass on; some never have that opportunity though.

But, if you thought that a loved one went to hell, would that affect your view on God? I feel as though, it would be very painful, but then again, why should i assign myself the same eternal destiny as they, as that won't change anything.

So, what are your thoughts on this issue? I am just curious.

Asalam Alaikum dear brothers and sisters in Islam
Our ummah is in a sad shape. We are being killed and humiliated on a daily basis. This will continue until we get our acts together. We need to start practicing Islam correctly from the Quran and Sunnah and we need to unite.

Every innocent Muslim who dies and we stand by and do nothing we will carry sin for that. Now I know that some of us don't have the power to do anything. But if we unite we do.

What can we do to take Islam back? There is to much blood being spilled subhanAllah. This makes me so sad.

I speak to myself before anyone else.

I love you all for the sake of Allah.

May Allah help our Ummah and unite us. Ameen
