Do you believe everyone that hasn't "accepted Jesus" is going to hell? And you're one of the select few who aren't, and you feel happy that Jesus has chosen you above everyone else? Isn't that a little proud?

Admittedly, yes, it bothers me a little. Often it is an issue of pride, because people that aggressively deny Jesus are denying indoctrination, and sometimes I get the feeling they think they're above us bible-thumping, brainwashed hypocrites.

But sometimes people just think that there is no God, and there is no Jesus. For them it's as easy to admit there is a God as it is for you to admit there isn't a God - it's just they way they think the world is. Sometimes people were raised in a different religion (some of which have priorities that I think the western world could adopt).

I think that Christians can be equally stubborn, and that is much more troubling to me. You'd think that people who were religious would study their religion's sacred writings and glean knowledge and understanding from them. But most people just let someone else tell them how to practice their beliefs.

I don't refuse to accept Jesus - I just haven't been shown any empirical evidence that he is who he claims to be. Talking to a Hasidic Rabbi the other day, he stated that Jesus failed to fulfill the mandatory prophesies that were required of the Messiah.

I don't agree that you need to accept Jesus to avoid hell - I believe that hell doesn't exist.

As for pride, I keep an open mind about mostly everything - only in that way will the truth show itself.

B/c Jesus is not the son of god or god.. If he even existed he was simply a very spiritually advanced human for his time. That does not mean he should be worshiped as a god. And the alleged immaculate conception, that never happened. Mary concieved her son just like every other mother on the face of the planet. Back then women were second class citizens and were considered either whores and virgins. So, the simpletons of the age decided Jesus was a god b/c he was so spiritually advanced, and clearly the son of god couldn't have come from a whore.. so bam the myth of the immaculate conception was born.

Blindness, Agree, Yes it troubles me much. Pride happens to be first on the list of things God hates........

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:16-19

Well you see, we have this thing called Constitution and in there it says we have freedom of religion. So how 'bout that? Eh?

It is people's RIGHT not to believe in Jesus.
There are many other nice religions or secular theories.
Also people at times don't get affected by the "religious" scare tactics. People don't believe in hell or jesus, hey I bet you don't believe in evolution or global warming. Aren't you scared you'll die in some awful hurricane or suffocate without oxygen on this planet? Do you believe in god because you are afraid he'll punish if you don't. Should you believe in him uncoditionally. What would Jesus do?

It's got nothing to do with pride, and everything to do with truth vs. fantasy.
Look, if there is some great and mystical god up there, don't you think he would want us to evolve to a point of asking questions and not just stuck back believing whatever someone tells us is the truth?
Besides, what makes you think your god is the right one? There are thousands more! And, many of them have the same fairy tales as yours! (Oh, and worse hells!)

Why do some people REFUSE to submit to Allah?

Only through His mercy and love will you attain Heaven.

Let go of your pride and accept Him.

Because people have different beliefs. Is it common for Christians to do this? Because I see it all the time on here. Why can't they just accept that everyone has different beliefs and they cannot push theres onto us?

How can it be that hard for you to understand this: SOME PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE. Do you honestly think we all know you're right but refuse to admit it? How could you possibly be that myopic? It's not a refusal to accept- I don't think Jesus was who you think he was. Can't we just agree to disagree on this one and move on?
