Ok, I really don't see what the big deal is about "Happy Holidays". Is anyone actually saying "Happy Holidays unless you celebrate Christmas in which case I hope your Christmas tree catches on fire and your nativity scene spontaneously combusts"? Isn't Christmas a holiday? So, wouldn't that mean that "Happy Holidays" INCLUDES Christmas?

I really don't care which one a person says to me, but I just don't get why people are so up in arms about someone saying "Happy Holidays". There are other holidays this time of year. In fact, all my life I thought "Happy Holidays" meant "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year".

Could someone please explain why this is so offensive?

seems like a dumb question. but i would like to know. why did you consider the faith you are? whatever pagan faith you decided. did you feel a longing to change your faith, and one particular pagan faith called to you. i'm curious. why did you decide to be pagan? and in being so, how did your beliefs change?

Christians belive Jesus is the son of God, who came to earth and died for all our sins, rose again, ascended to heaven, and will one day return. How does this compare to what Jews believe? No long drawn out answers please.

I accidentally put this question in philosophy but I would like RS to consider this.
I want you to really give this some thought. I know you want physical right here, right now evidence but consider that a Spiritual being such as God can effect our reality much the same way that we do only He does it on a much higher plane. Let me give you an example, everything from powerful microchips to sleek automobiles to the space shuttle start out as invisible absolutely non tangible thoughts and images in someone's mind but take a look around and marvel at the sky scrappers and bridges that span miles upon miles. All of this, from something absolutely intangible and invisible. Is it much more difficult to visualize God as the Ultimate

my family is pretty religious, (we are Catholic) but don't get me wrong i love God. I believe in him im just searching and i don't like going to church anymore AT ALL.
our priest isn't the best in the world, and i think we should have bibles by our seats, which we don't.
i just don't really know what to do because my parents don't want to switch churches because we have been there for a long time. it's a big church though, alot of people we don't know.
but... like every week i say i dont want to go....and my mom sometimes plays piano at the services so she HAS to go...but they make me go........
my brother is 12 years older than me (im 16) and he NEVER goes to church anymore....after he moved out he hasn't gone since.
....but what would you do????
sorry this is kinda a long question.

"Ill have a blue christmas without you
Ill be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green christmas tree
Wont be the same dear, if youre not here with me

And when those blue snowflakes start falling
Thats when those blue memories start calling
Youll be doin all right, with your christmas of white
But Ill have a blue, blue blue blue christmas

Youll be doin all right, with your christmas of white,
But Ill have a blue, blue christmas" ...Elvis Presley

I am not against Catholics, I am a Christian, but have a question regarding heaven and hell. Well, Catholics say God is all-powerful, all-loving, but then conradict themselves by saying that if you do not obey his will, he will send you to hell to be separated from him for all eternity. First of all, if God was all loving, how could he send HIS OWN CREATION to hell? He created us. We are his children. If God absolutely had to punish someone could it not be only for a little while? Do you think he could possibly be at war with a devil, if he is so powerful? Even most of us HUMANS would not wish eternal damnation on our own children even if they did something horrible.
I believe only in heaven, that good is all there is.
What is your take on this? Can you please answer some of my questions? I would like a different point of view of someone who believes in hell. Thank you.

I have always wanted to have this strong faith in Jesus Christ but it seems I just can't. It's not from a lack of giving Christ a chance to come into my life because I have done that so many times. Its just that my logic kicks in and I cant put faith or even love someone I cant see, hear, etc. I want to believe in God and have that strong faith that so many Christians do but my faith always dwindles down after maybe a month and those thoughts start creeping back in. Another thought that comes into play is that there are so many religions. How do you know Christianity is the right one? It could just be that all religions are man-made and are just trying to stay immortal through "life after death". But then the obligatory question comes in. Would God send people to Hell for believing in one religion over another even though we are both seeking the true God (if one exists). Any help with my struggles would be greatly appreciated.
